It's hard to decide how to cheat

Iowa Democrats are desperate to to find out how they'll be manipulated and misrepresented by their national counterparts in the caucuses tonight:
Underlying the bold pronouncements, campaigns and voters acknowledged a palpable sense of unpredictability and anxiety as Democrats begin selecting which candidate to send on to a November face-off with President Donald Trump. The Democratic race is unusually large and jumbled heading into Monday’s caucus. Four candidates were locked in a fight for victory in Iowa; others were in position to pull off surprisingly strong finishes.

“This is going to go right down to the last second,” said Symone Sanders, a senior adviser to Biden’s campaign.

Polls show Biden in a close race in Iowa with Sanders, Warren and Buttigieg. Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang are also competing aggressively in the state.

Democrats’ deep disdain for Trump has put many in the party on edge about the decision. A series of external forces has also heightened the sense of unpredictability in Iowa, including Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate, which marooned Warren, Sanders and Klobuchar in Washington for much of the past week.

Many campaigns were looking to a final weekend poll to provide some measure of clarity. But late Saturday night, CNN and The Des Moines Register opted not to release the survey because of worries the results may have been compromised.

New caucus rules have also left the campaigns working in overdrive to set expectations before the contest. For the first time, the Iowa Democratic Party will release three sets of results: who voters align with at the start of the night; who they pick after voters supporting nonviable candidates get to make a second choice; and the number of state delegate equivalents each candidate gets.
Both national establishments manipulate and screw over their grass roots. But it's particularly interesting to observe it when the national establishment isn't sure of its direction. The one thing we can be fairly certain of is that Bernie Sanders will not be the beneficiary. He is to the current Democratic Party what Ron Paul was to the pre-Trump Republican Party. The problem is that the Democrats still haven't settled on their Mitt Romney.

UPDATE: Mike Cernovich reports the results of the spiked final Iowa poll. Looks like things are going south fast for Creepy Joe.
  • 22 percent Sanders
  • 18 percent Warren
  • 16 percent Buttigieg
  • 13 percent Biden

By nefarious design? Through glorious stupidity? A bit of column A and a bit of column B?

Why not just a big board with a ton of lights and a crowd screaming "NO WHAMMIES!"?

"The one thing we can be fairly certain of is that Bernie Sanders will not be the beneficiary. He is to the current Democratic Party what Ron Paul was to the pre-Trump Republican Party." Ron Paul was never in the same polling numbers and position in his GOP runs for President that Sanders is in the Democratic primary. Bernie will probably win both Iowa and New Hampshire. Sanders may not ultimately win the nomination, but the comparison with Paul isn't justified.

Is the Iowa system so rigged that agents of chaos cannot show up to vote for da Bern? My assumption being that the old gals who run those caucuses are formidable but brittle, and outside of a few crazy college towns they would not be able rule by the usual muscle and intimidation act.

The thing about Sanders is that people who like him *really* like him. The socialists and the potheads really believe he would fix things. The rest of the party thinks he's a doddering old loser. So his fans generate a lot of loud enthusiasm for him, and would be able to dominate discussions and caucuses if allowed to, but it wouldn't translate to enough votes to win the general election.

Dunno, the comparison to Ron Paul seems pretty apt to me.

It's way too late for anyone new to get into the race. Super Tuesday is now what, a month away? How do you possibly get on all those ballots? Without checking, I would think that the due date to get on the ballot for most of the Super Tuesday states has long since passed.

The thing I've noticed about Sanders is young working poor like him because they see the government helping everyone else out and they want help too. They want their piece of the welfare check pie. Then we have boomers saying Bernie is bad because nothing is free as they collect Medicare and social security which are basically unfunded liabilities at this point. I shake my head and shrug. At this point is it better to slowly go down the drain or to blow the engine sooner so we have to address the problems? It, Vox as one of few male publishers it seems like the underserved male readership would be a gold mine. I love your work and your ideas Supreme Dark Lord.

At first glance a comparison between Bernie and Ron Paul doesn't work, but within the context of their very disparate messages, both men have something that most politicians lack: authenticity. The same is true of our beloved GE, Trump. The American people are sick to death of the poseurs in power that have been stabbing us in the back ever since Reagan left office.

I wouldn't mind if they chose Romney. Honestly, the bi-factional ruling party may as well use him as a place holder on that side of things also. None of the current Demicans can beat Trump either, or is likely to have any positive impact on the next presidency by pushing for something useful (like pushing for the end of government backed student loans and a debt jubilee).

Bidden has been doing some weird (even for him) self sabotaging in the last 2 weeks that even the media hasn't been able to cover for.

No one who is an open Sanders supporter makes good life decisions. The good news is that won't support anyone else, so the more he gets screwed, the more people stay home in November.

Warren and Buttplug are the two favorites of AWFL's, but Warren has even less charisma than Clitler and Buttplug polls negatively with anyone fails the paper bag test.

On a side note, the forces of the God Emperor are expecting a record turn out for a non-contested presidential year. No where near the numbers of '16, but double the normal for when there is a sitting president.

Honestly, and with no snark, I have to ask you some questions about your assumptions.

"We" whom ever you mean by that..."in going down the drain?
Europe? USA? All of the West?

I assume there has been a pivot, especially in Europe toward Nationalism, and even the CivNat of Trump helps the European Nationalism and Nationalism in places like the Philippines to be less molested.

The idea of..."to blow the engine sooner, so we can address the problems," strikes me as far off base. I assume that to blow the engine sooner is just what the Globalists need to come back into full control. Of course, you likely believe that the DS/Globalist are in full control now. You are wrong, as they are not.

It's beyond delicious to watch the Dem party Iowa drama -- but all the sturm and drang may be for naught.

Why? Bloomberg lurks in the wings.

Oh, I get it -- he's uncharismatic, he's a nastly little scold (worse then Warren in that regard) he's buying his way in, and, above all, he's really really short.

But you don't get to be worth $70 billion dollars because you are an idiot.

Predictions are hard, especially about the future, but think about it from the perspective of your demoralized Democrat socialist voter.

Biden's senile, Warren would get carved up by Trump, Sanders is Jeremy Corbyn ( and we all know what happened to him), while the brothers and sisters (who we absolutely need to win) will never vote for the Gay guy.

Kerry? Clinton? They've already lost once, do we want to go through that humiliation again? We'd love Michele to come swooping in, but she's busy redecorating the $15 million shack in Martha's Vineyard.

That leaves Bloomberg. And why not?

He wants to take the guns from yahoos, he's onboard with the climate change schtick, and he loves government just like we do.

Plus he's a billionaire just like the other guy, and he'll drop huuuge sums of money into tight races so we can take back the Senate and Ginsberg and Breyer can retire knowing we won't have some crazy Federalist society pick for the next 40 years.

Anyway, you heard it here first. I'm off to William Hill now.

The press gives Sanders all the promotion he wants. Ron Paul was actively supressed. They him ONLY after being dragged to the story, kicking and screaming every inch of the way, and even then, most write-ups would get spiked by the editors. This includes National Review. The only only publications I ever saw that provided decent coverage of Ron Paul were Reason magazine and another which had a libertarian-oriented outlook, published in the 1990s called Liberty, all text, printed on heavy paper (40 or 60 lb/in^2, as opposed to the typical 20 lb/in^2 that is used for printer or copier paper, or the far lighter 10 lb/in^2 plasticized paper typically used for magazine to reduce space and weight. The current publication under the same name was first published in 2004, and has always been with full 4-color illustrations with significant Christian outlook).

Agree, way far off base. It didn't work in Russia in 1917, it didn't work in Cuba three decades later, it didn't work in Venezuela recently. One thing we can learn from history is that the normies just go along with whoever has the reins. When communism or some other ism makes life hellish, the normies get used to it and support the new regime. When they see their neighbors getting on the boxcars, they want to get on too.

Blowing the engine is preferable to continuing on with loosely-attached wheels, underdamped suspension, and and massive understeer, such that as driving on a mountain road, you go over a cliff.

"Watching a Party whose claim to fame is theft, deception, manipulation, murder, mayhem, greed, and graft pull shenanigans at the last minute to ensure Creepy Joe is the official "nominee" is hilarious."

And remember, that's been part of them since the beginning.

The Democratic Party claims that they are directly descended from the earlier Democratic-Republican Party, the origins of which is none other than the infamous den of political evil, Tammany Hall, which remained the party's center, and then the Democratic Party's center all the way through the Boss Tweed era and beyond, all the way up until it was dissolved in 1967.

(Remember, this was while the federal capital was at a temporary location in New York City pending construction of sufficient buildings in the previously uninhabited District of Columbia)

http://infogalactic.com/info/Tammany_Hall.

In other words, the Democratic Party has not only been thoroughly corrupt since DAY 1, its leaders brag about being the direct descendant organization from a previously corrupt Democratic-Republican Party (Thomas Jefferson, and then Andrew Jackson with his veto of the Second Bank of America bill being the glaring exceptions.)

That being said, the Republican Party's lineage also passes through the Democratic-Republicans (although the GOP makes no effort to draw attention to this fact, not even by denying it or attempting to suppress the info which would cause a Streisand Effect outcome.)

My hoped for scenario:

Despite all the Democrat party cheating, Bernie wins the nomination. The convention is a cluster-fark of epic proportions. In the middle of a busy summer campaign schedule, Sanders suffers another heart attack. It's bad enough he has to withdraw his candidacy. The party apparatchiks scramble like mad to install their own pick.

Here comes Hillary! Bernie Bros start burning things and punching people. With less than 120 days to go, she has a tiny war chest and a disorganized, ad hoc ground game. Half of her own party loath her. Trump beats her like a rented mule during the debates. GE wins with a bigger electoral margin than last time, and as icing on the cake, wins the popular vote as well. Hillary dies of an apoplectic fit, but not before ordering the tragic suicide of every perceived enemy of her and Bill's.

Maximum entertainment achieved. I die before Trump is sworn in for his second term, since I suffer a heart attack on election night after laughing for 3 straight hours. I'm buried with a huge grin plastered on my face and my middle finger raised

To me, the Globalists (both right and left) are the ones driving over a cliff. Nationalism is gaining momentum all over the globe, and it started with China, Russia, and India. The FIRE economy is folding. Finance. Insurance. Real Estate. The parasites are failing.

Yet, how would you or your allies blow the engine?

I like most of your posts, so please explain to me how this would work?

Events...the Globalists use Events, as in Wars, Civil Wars, and Violent Chaos to gain more control, more power. They are prepped for these events much better than anyone on the real Right. Chaos helps evil people and not anyone who wants to actually make things right. Evil people hide in chaos.

If things fall apart naturally, without the help of Right wing preppers creating violence that may be different. Most people into speeding things up, from my experience, desire to create cult followings. Chaos leads to the worst of the worst gathering even more control and power. Every. Damn. Time. Yeah, I'm not impressed.

He's part of the hedge fund set, though he runs the information wing with his Bloomberg Terminal.

His ilk makes money because they have inside information about what the Fed is going to do. They know ahead of time what the federal funds rate is going to be, Bloomberg seeds his news outlets with the opposite of that inside information, and...voila...billions are made.

Ever notice how hedge funds continue having clients even though they lag the returns of an index ETF? That's by design. Trailing the markets by generating a transaction record designed to whittle down windfall gains by the time the returns are reported is the name of the game.

It's that Paul was the "conscience" of the Republican party, despite some of his mistakes, IMHO, on leaving abortion to the states. He had a moral authority and drive to a loyal core of supporters.
Sanders has always been open on what he believes, and makes it clear, that the base of the Democrat party were being disingenuous about being "liberals."

The DNC can simply override these votes, since they ultimately control the nomination, and these radicals still don't form a majority. It's just that the other candidates don't have the intense support.

Hmmm, since it's the Dem primaries, I'm thinking more along the lines of Who Made Who?

Who picked up the bill and who made who?

Regarding "blow the engine sooner," it's a moot question. The transmission stripped it's last gear 13 years ago and we've been coasting ever since, with various folks stomping on the gas to no effect. As the car slows down, more and more people take the opportunity to jump off.

Oh yeah, and the steering failed too. They turn the wheel, but the car goes where it wants to. None of us can really hasten or delay the end of what is. All we can do is choose when to start working on what will be. The sooner we start, the less time it will take to get society moving again.
