Chuck Dixon's Avalon - two new issues!

Normally we'd spread these out a bit, but since it's been a while and because publishing the sixth issue means we can start putting the omnibus together, we decided to release issues #5 and #6 at the same time. And besides, if you're on lockdown, what better way to spend the day than in Avalon City with The Legend Chuck Dixon? If you're an Alt-Hero backer, please check your email, as links to the .CBZ and .mobi versions have been sent to you!

Chuck Dixon’s Avalon #5: Forced Entry

The hunter has become the hunted. As the mysterious vigilante continues to stalk her prey, the crack international superhero team is on her trail and is determined to bring her down before she can accomplish her deadly mission.

But is there another way to find her? What is the connection between the vigilante and the unknown coma patient she was once observed visiting in the hospital? The Avalon police, too, are patiently trying to track her down before she adds to her body count.

If you weren't an original Alt-Hero backer, Chuck Dixon’s Avalon #5: Forced Entry is available for $2.99 in two digital formats at Arkhaven Comics and in Kindle format on Amazon. It is also available in a gold-logo print edition for #3.99 at Castalia Direct.

Chuck Dixon’s Avalon #6: Unforced Error

Vengeance is the order of the day in Avalon. But when King Ace and his new team finally manage to track down the murderous vigilante and interrupt her latest hit, he learns that it is a lot easier to take on an unwilling villain than to take her in to face justice. And he also learns a much more difficult lesson about betrayal.

In the meantime, King Ace’s old friend and former not-sidekick has also fallen in with some new friends who do not hesitate to use their superpowers in some very illegal ways and towards some very questionable ends.

Chuck Dixon’s Avalon #6: Unforced Error is available for $2.99 in two digital formats at Arkhaven Comics and in Kindle format on Amazon.

MComix and ComicRack are both reliable free CBZ readers for Windows. I prefer MComix. SimpleComic is recommended for Mac. There are many free CBZ readers for Android and iOS available on the Play and Apple stores.

UPDATE: It's interesting to note that, by contrast, that the industry's primary distributor Diamond will stop shipping new comics on April 1, and that with the exception of DC, many of the establishment comics publishers are no longer releasing digital comics.

UPDATE: Batman is now Chinese. And in high school. With the Joker. He lives with an older gay gentleman named Alfred.
After admitting she has no clue about Batman, De La Cruz then details her lack of knowledge doesn’t matter because she’s radically altering the character anyways. She explains, “Bruce Wayne is the billionaire. He’s the richest man alive. So I thought, wouldn’t it be fun if his family was Chinese and from Hong Kong? That made it feel real.”

De La Cruz then details she’s basically telling an autobiography of her own life using a DC Comics character, “There’s been a big influx of wealthy Chinese people who moved from Hong Kong to Arcadia in Los Angeles, and that’s where my mom lives, I’m part-Chinese, my brother lives in Hong Kong, so I thought it would be great to put what I know into Bruce Wayne. I just wanted him to be a little bit more representative of my background and giving him an authentic family.”
Meanwhile, our upcoming Shade comic, written by The Legend Chuck Dixon, is going to crush.

UPDATE: Chuck Dixon’s Avalon #5: Forced Entry  is the #1 New Release in Mystery, Thriller & Suspense Graphic Novels

Corona Chans death blow to the comcis industry.

As Vox has predicted for a long time, there is a new marked and opportunities for new not PC comics after the SJW zombies had taken over the industry. But Corona Chan is doing her magic to further the fall of SJW zombie comics:

A ticking time bomb went off in an 82-year-old American industry last week. Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus, Diamond Comic Book retailers, the primary distributor of almost all physical comics, announced the suspension of deliveries of new comics starting April 1, with no announced date of resuming business. Additionally, they plan to lay off redundant employees.

If you’re a fan of comics, this news is not surprising. Coronavirus exposed the flaws in the economy and turned bad business errors from annoyances into fatalities.....

Corona-chan is not tired, yet.

@Vox

Money on the table question.

Do you think either of the Big Two are going to be shuttered over Corona?

Warner is not in a good position but Disney looks like it's hurt.

Do you think either of the Big Two are going to be shuttered over Corona?

Probably not shuttered per se, as both names have brand value. They'll probably stop printing actual comics and try going all-digital first. Then, they'll license off the lesser characters first, followed by the major ones.

IOW, she's turning Batman into a Mary Sue. That'll end well.

So this is what eating a bat really did to some Chinese person.

Will you be releasing any more of the Quantum mortis series?
Thank you for this release, am thoroughly enjoying it.

A friend was a life long comics fan. 2 years ago she stopped and sold off her collection of good comics.

I did tease her a little about the new silly snowflakes one coming out, but I stopped because I can tell she is bummed out about her former hobby

Will you be releasing any more of the Quantum mortis series?

The three Wardogs Inc. books are set in the QM universe. I haven't had time to write another murder mystery and I'm busy with A Sea of Skulls now.

But we do have another QM universe series that another author is writing right now.

Thank you Vox.
I apologise for not being clear.
I was referring to "a man disrupted" graphic novel series.
Is it on hold?

Blogger Silly but True March 31, 2020 12:50 PM

FWIW, just got done reading both this morning, and they were entertaining reads. The art, surprisingly, continues to improve on its already high bar set by the prior 2 issues or so.

This isn’t a novelty any longer: it’s clear the team is in this business to succeed. Win? Certainly a possibility.

The side benefit is opening my Kindle made me realize I still hadn’t finished Throne of Bones, obtained during your last promotion for it. So I just multiplied my virus reading.

Thanks again, corona-chan!

Winning! If only in every aspect of life the competition decided to wade in a tar pit with a dynamite vest and set themselves on fire.

Thanks, Vox.

The good news is there can't be many more comic heros left to be destroyed then what do they do .

Blogger VD March 31, 2020 1:38 PM

Not at all. I spoke with the illustrator today. Issue #5 will be out in April in digital format. We're going to stop doing the one-off print editions in favor of two eight-issue omnibuses.

Regarding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Batman:

"Circling the drain might be an understatement, this book deserves to be immediately shredded and then flushed down the toilet."

Knowing how important Western toilets are (and having gone elbow-deep in pipes to remove unholy obstructions in the past), that should be considered a felony. There has to be a safer way to dispose of that toxic garbage.

Bought a comic for kindle on Amazon. I can't remember which one. It was EXCELLENT!!!

That is the review from the young man reading it. It looks good on kindle fire. I just skimmed the look.

Thank you for what you create.

I watched the recently released Superman Red Son DVD, from Redbox. It was just OK but was not PC. It had some very good moments. I was not offended. Was this created by a different, non-converged organization?

this is a 48 year old mother, who still thinks she's in junior high
I pitched a kind of Gossip Girl Batman"

who was born in the Philippines, but the Magic Flip Dirt failed to wash the Chink out of her hair ... just as the Magic Yankee Doodle Dirt also failed.

"I just wanted him to be a little bit more representative of my background and giving him an authentic family.”

because Honkies don't have "authentic" families.

which is totally Not Racist in any conceivable way that a Chink would recognize.

" there is an apparent love triangle between Catwoman, Joker, and Batman."
...
“It came out of trying to figure out all their desires. What does Jack bring to Selina that’s different from what Bruce brings to Selina? Ultimately you don’t know who she’s going to pick. You root for both of them, and there’s a surprise in the end.”

so this comic is going to be a high school dating story about Catwoman stringing two boys along?

but, what about Selina, you ask? what does SHE bring to the lives of Batman and Joker?
"the hottest girl to ever walk the halls of high school"

so, she's got the One True Shiny Magical Vagina. and how dare either one of the boys that she's stringing along step out on her?

everybody say it all together now:
Women.
Ruin.
Everything.

which is why the new Gotham High is going to cash in on that massive Ghost Busters / Harley Quinn / Terminator: Dark Fate money and save the whole comics industry.

I did not miss it but I found it amusing as I did many other things including the hammer and sickel on Superman's chest. The movie did not have any SJW feel to it. Superman hits on Wonder Woman and she blows him off saying "I come from an island of all women, you figure it out."

Geez. Imagine if Lord of the Rings was written by a woman. There would be no Hobbits because Hobbits are ugly and icky. Lagolas becomes "Lagola," the half-elf, half-human hybrid that doesn't know yet in which world she fits into. She would beat any foe and would have a torrid love triangle between Boromir and Aragorn.

OT: We can now see all of Andrew Cuomo's nipple rings.
