Correcting the Fake Narrative

The Fake News has been attempting to retroactively establish a fake narrative about President Trump's robust response to Corona-chan:
One of the repeated lies of the anti-Trump media is that the president failed to do what was necessary to prevent the spread of this disease. We are told, by Democrats and the media, that President Trump “wasted” six weeks during which he should have been . . . Well, doing something more than what he did, which was actually quite a lot.

On Jan. 29, Trump announced the formation of his Coronavirus Task Force, headed by HHS Secretary Alex Azar, and including the CDC director Dr. Redfield, who retired from the Army medical service with the rank of colonel, and whose medical specialty is viruses. On Jan. 31, Trump announced a ban on travel from China, which was controversial at the time. The same day Trump announced the ban, Joe Biden, campaigning in Iowa, accused the president of “hysterical xenophobia,” saying Trump was leading with “fearmongering . . . instead of science.”

The claim that Trump is “anti-science” has become part of the media’s narrative about the COVID-19 outbreak. Supposedly, a bias against science explains why the president didn’t do whatever it was that his critics, with the benefit of hindsight, say he should have done. What he actually did, however, was entirely in keeping with what the medical experts would have advised, given the circumstances. With only six known coronavirus cases in the U.S., five of them were people who had just returned from Wuhan, and the sixth was a household member of one of these travelers. So the first thing to do, obviously, was stop the arrival of more infected people from China, where the pandemic began and at the time had just been recognized as a “global emergency” by the WHO.

OK, so what happened next? As of Feb. 26 — nearly a month after Trump had created the coronavirus task force — there were still only 15 known cases of the disease in the United States. It was on Feb. 28 that Case No. 16 was identified in Santa Clara County, California:

At that point — where the 16th case had just been identified — there was not a single known COVID-19 case in New York or New Jersey. The only known case on the East Coast up to that point, was a man who had recently arrived in Boston from Wuhan, China, in late January. At that time, Boston Public Health Commission director Rita Nieves said, “The risk to the general public remains low.” And this continued to be the case throughout February, so that if you want to cherry-pick quotes by President Trump during that time saying that he believed we had the problem under control, and that the Wuhan coronavirus posed no serious risk to Americans, so what? This was the consensus of the medical community at the time.
Let's not forget that when Trump declared the China travel ban nearly a month before the medical community decided that the virus posed a serious risk to Americans, he was castigated for doing this by the very same people who are criticizing him for not having done enough now.

No one will ever forget how they called Trump a racist for saving Americans.

Nor how they lied about aquarium cleaner being the Trump cure.

And especially not how they are demanding people not take the Trump cure in desperate attempts of stripping Trump of credit for saving Americans.

Bubble media can say what it likes. Considering their Narrative used to be that Trump was smothering Democracy with a pillow and perpetrating holocausts at the border, not being robust enough for a few weeks is not much of a critique.

Anyway, this is tedious stock criticism. They could be reading a script from some Reagan/AIDS t.v. movie from 30 years ago.

WHO didn't declare a pandemic until March 10 or 11. The CDC's pandemic plan would not be implemented until after anyway. Oddly enough, the CDC site still has a headline The United States is not currently experiencing an influenza pandemic.

Yet they have Influenza estimates updated to April 4th

There is a group of people who will do or say anything that they think makes them most powerful at the time. They will sacrifice anything, including logical consistency, truth, or morality for that end. I learned to look for those things being sacrificed by people. When you see it, that's a good indicator of a person who shouldn't be given power.

I have two Chuck Schumer tweets saved. One, from Feb. 5, called the president's travel ban "premature" and part of a "war against immigrants." The other, from Feb. 24, says the president has no "plan or urgency" to deal with the crisis.

So predictable. Democrats and media should be made to answer for everything they did to help the WHO cover for China so that the virus could spread across the globe.

Public health and it's measures are poorly understood by most people I think. They don't see how it's a different thing than regular doctoring and don't suss it's methods well other than nattering over tobacco or giving out immunizations. What Trump did in response to COVID was directly on point and timely and in accord with his responsibility, in real on-the-ground terms. I have no complaints surrounding him. I don't blame Trump's response, he did well based on the information he had at the time. However, there was a huge screw up by the epidemiologists who run these various bureaucracies. The basic flaw was one of arrogance. They assumed the virus was not already spreading in the US in January and February because there weren't many positive cases. But how in the world would you know if the virus is there when you are not looking for it? They were not testing for it to any significant degree or allowing private health care resources to develop tests in a timely manner. It's a classic case of intellectual arrogance being blind to what it assumes is not there. But there were plenty of people sounding the alarm during these months. In China, when someone sounded the alarm, they used totalitarian force to silence and ignore him. In the US, no totalitarian force was necessary, just the complacent arrogance of neo-liberal globalism.

Now that the chance of containment has already been missed, the epidemiologists in bureaucratic power positions can't admit their own mistake and be honest with the American people. They can't admit that this virus is here to stay and all we can do now is manage the spread. Eradication is impossible and everyone with any understanding of infectious disease knows this. Yet they keep moving the ball with what our goals are. First they told us we need to "flatten the curve" (an implicit acknowledgment that eradication is impossible). Now the message is that if we just put up with another month of lock down, we will "win this war."

While containment being impossible is bad news for sure, the upside is that the actual mortality rate of this virus is probably much lower than it appears to be. The fact that it was spreading in the US in Jan/Feb and it wasn't killing so many people that it got noticed sooner, is evidence that it is not quite the boogie man that some are making it out to be. It mostly kills people who are already very old and sick, this is why the deaths in Jan/Feb were able to go unnoticed. We will not have a reliable ability to know the real mortality rate until widespread serological (antibody) testing/sampling of populations can be performed. The good news is that this is beginning to happen. Anyone who tells you right now that they know the mortality rate is lying to you. They are making a guess based on faulty data.

Trump has a real cross-roads before him this coming week. He can either be honest about this virus and lead the country on a realistic course of managing the spread. Or he can keep pretending we can eradicate this thing while we take measures that are 10x more damaging to us than the virus. The irrational management of the virus is starting to cause real disruption of life necessities (food factories, etc). Pray for Trump and your local leaders, that they can make decision based on the truth and give people honest encouragement of a way forward.

If you haven't listened to Tom Wood show episode 1627, I highly recommend it. His guest is spot on about realistic management of this thing.

I speak as someone who is a microbiologist who has worked in an infectious disease lab, this why I'm so dogmatic about who is talking realistically about this thing, and who is blowing hot air.

Lastly, China is not at all to blame for this pandemic. The rest of the world didn't have to let hundreds of thousands of people travel from China into their country after December 31st, when China told WHO about this danger. Neo-liberal globalism is the single biggest culprit.

IIRC, China has policies that specifically target those who, "disrupt the harmony of society." That doesn't seem like such a bad idea.

When one considers all the careers, dreams, and futures that have been and will be interrupted, damaged, or outright destroyed by the economic fallout, one realizes that it is appropriate to severely punish those responsible for this mass hysteria and slow-rolling the Trump cure.

"Conservatives are too busy trying to convince everyone that corona-chan is just a minor cold."

Not to defend the cons, but even the doom-y stats say that it's not much worse than the flu up until you're 65+. We shouldn't completely disregard those older people, but there comes a point where it's just going to happen, because wolf was cried too loudly and one too many times and it's costing too much. It ain't a minor cold, but it's about the weakest pandemic that could be legitimized, and that's why you see people either acting like it's nothing or the world is ending, because binary thinkers are most people.

On one side, I have "much ado about rather little", due to large numbers of low-T pansies, the usual media fearmongering, general lack of perspective, and tons of people trying to use it to push political agendas through or slip them around the back. Why this dualistic either/or presentation? Why not both? Since China has more than contending power source, why not a group in China that wants to seize power from the current holders of the main power? China is certainly to blame, but which power group in China is to blame? And, is Xi's group at least to blame for a partial cover up?

The fact that the GloboHomos are even larger to blame for the spread of the virus, doesn't come close to letting China off the hook. The China connections to the WHO, and the leverage over what the WHO did after being "warned," was directed by China (or elements within China).

One yuan has been deposited in your account.

China (and the WHO) lied about human-to-human transmission for at least three weeks in January, from the time a whistleblower posted about it to the time they admitted it. That gave it a head-start getting around the world. It was smart: if they'd been honest and travel had been shut down, their economy would have been the only one taking a beating, while the rest of the world hummed right along, learning to do without so much Made In China crap. It also allowed time for Chinese living in other countries to buy up masks and supplies and ship them back to China.

They treated it like a biowar, whether they intended to start one or not. Our leaders deserve blame too, but that doesn't let China off the hook.

Here we can track our foreign virus travelers quite easy because we are so small. The virus was in places like Dubai and Qatar early on, which are popular travel destinations for some westerners. It snuck out the back door from China and crossed borders relatively unnoticed.

We received infections from 48 countries. Our biggest clusters came in from USA, then Australia, and then United Arab Emirates. There was only one person on a direct flight from China (HK), one person from Italy, and very low numbers from a whole bunch of other countries.

The country needs to get back to work before the situation gets worse than the great depression. But if Trump goes on TV and says its time, the nevertrumpers and the left and the media will scream that he's putting money over lives, and if this goes on they will blame him for destroying the economy. He'll need to handle this carefully.

Blogger jarheadljh April 11, 2020 10:53 PM

I think it was watching multiple democrats including Pelosi implore people to come to the various Chinatown's to celebrate Chinese new year that solidified CV19 as a bioweapon in my mind. They didn't just know, they were actively trying to make this as bad as possible. They knew exactly what they were doing.

1) I think they weren't prepared for Trump to close off the borders as early as he did, knowing that would kill the economy his reelection is depending on. So when he did they fell back on the nonsense words like "racist".

2)They were always going to attack Trump for failing no matter how good the actual numbers turned out to be. That was in the original plan.

3)Speaking of the plan, this whole thing was planned years ago - a Cabal "event" appears to be fire and forget in that they seem to be able to adjust the narrative on a roughly daily basis but not actually stop an attack once they set it in motion. So you have Bill Gates, Faucci and others yammering on about how nothing is going to be the same, predicting enforced lockdowns, mandatory vaccines, and any other authoritarianism they can cram into their talking points, and all of it is set to rolled out. The vaccines being "rushed" have been being worked on for a decade and we're "just lucky". They planned to make billions when the governments of the world bought them in bulk for the planned mandatory vaccinations.

4)Trump was not supposed to find out about hydroxychloroquine. He sure as hell wasn't supposed to name drop it several times during a live press conference. All those celebs getting it? What if they really are infected? What if the virus dose came with a couple pills of HCQ+AZ with instructions to take once officially diagnosed and announced as positive on twitter/media?

On Hannity the other night, Trump used the phrase "the malaria countries" and then explained that those countries used to battling malaria aren't having massive CV19 problems. He couldn't come out and say that it was because they pass out HCQ like candy, but it's because they pass out HCQ like candy.

5)The running joke after SHOTShow in January this year was that everyone was catching the Kung-Flu because Las Vegas is one of the most popular tourist destinations for Chinese nationals. SHOTShow was the week after Chinese new year celebrations in Vegas.

6)My cousin in-law tested positive for CV19 antibodies last week. He was symptomatic in January, *before* the first confirmed case in America. He lives in the Eugene area of Oregon along I5.

CV19 was probably in the Pacific Northwest by December. Maybe November.

7)The virus has already slowed several federal DOJ investigations officially as face to face interviews are not currently allowed. And the left wing worldwide is pushing for enforced lockdowns, mail-in voting, and to essentially shut everything down until middle of next year, and it's all to buy them time. It's like watching a child flailing about latching onto literally any excuse available to avoid their bed time.

Blogger Akulkis April 11, 2020 10:59 PM

He can get in front of the objections by explaining the dilemma, that no matter WHEN he says it's time to get back to normal, some people will complain "too early" while others will complain, "What took you so long."

He should also make it known that nothing about this is solid -- we don't have a good, complete mathematical model for the virus, only an incomplete and crappy one, with far too few factors, and not nearly enough data for them to be accurate. But, as crappy and incomplete as the model is, it's the best one we have, and the incomplete data we have is the best we'll have -- the good data won't be compiled until at least a year from now. So, we use what we have, knowing that it's incomplete and crappy, because we have nothing better, and let's hope that it's good enough.

that just as some screamed "racism" as he closed the borders, while others said, "too late, it's about time you did that."

Blogger Jack Amok April 12, 2020 12:57 AM

But if Trump goes on TV and says...

It doesn't matter what Trump says, the Donk-media cabal will complain about it, even if it's exactly what they were saying themselves ten minutes earlier. And I think TGE knows that better than any of us, and has it factored in as best he can.

The biggest single difference between TGE and the more-or-less decent Milton Milquetoast Cuck-Republicans is he doesn't care that he gets criticized. He knows his enemies will do that regardless.

The vaccines being "rushed" have been being worked on for a decade and we're "just lucky". They planned to make billions when the governments of the world bought them in bulk for the planned mandatory vaccinations.[/quote]

You're absolutely right that this was planned out years ago, and that a vaccine has been worked on for at least a decade. The Rockefeller Foundation published a report in May 2010, with the Global Business Network of "futurologist" Peter Schwartz, which was called "Scenarios for the Future of Technology and International Development". The first scenario was entitled, “Lock Step”, which envisioned a future where a pandemic would enable national leaders to increase their authority to impose rules and restrictions that would remain after the pandemic ended. Here's a quote from that report:

“During the pandemic, national leaders around the world flexed their authority and imposed airtight rules and restrictions, from the mandatory wearing of face masks to body-temperature checks at the entries to communal spaces like train stations and supermarkets. Even after the pandemic faded, this more authoritarian control and oversight of citizens and their activities stuck and even intensified. In order to protect themselves from the spread of increasingly global problems — from pandemics and transnational terrorism to environmental crises and rising poverty — leaders around the world took a firmer grip on power.”
