Looks like that worked

One of the things we've learned over the last 18 months is how different artists work in very different ways. This tends to pose a range of complications, some trivial, some more challenging, in attempting to assemble the various elements into a complete whole in different formats.

One obvious candidate for Webtoons was Right Ho, Jeeves, but our initial assumption was that it would not be possible to break apart the page files in a manner that permitted reassembly in the vertical format popularized by the Korean manwha comics. However, a little experimentation proved to be unexpectedly fruitful, and has permitted the launch of Arkhaven's second series there.

So, if you're interested, have a look at the first episode of Right Ho, Jeeves. We expect to have three weekly series running there on an ongoing basis.

Nice!
How do you pay for the privilege?

We'll announce that tomorrow. We'll be launching the aforementioned subscriptions then.

Is there any talk of doing more Wodehouse with the same artist?

Blogger Doktor Jeep April 12, 2020 1:23 PM

Well this is not my field but the flow of it did feel right. Like a good book makes you want to turn the page, this made me want to scroll.

Gary is presently working on Lawdog for us. If there is sufficient demand, there will be more Wodehouse.

Please make more Wodehouse for sure. I got the paperback for my birthday and I'd love to fill my library with a plethora of them. So many good Warehouse stories. Special request: Leave it to Psmith.

Good job translating Arkhaven material to Webtoons, looks great.

Am I correct to presume Lawdog is based on THE LAWDOG FILES? Does it include other material?

I've participated in all of Arkhaven's comic crowdfunders so I already get digital and print Alt Hero, AH:Q, Avalon, Green Knight. I'm looking for other original content so I signed up for Lawdog's Legion. If you also had a tier that combined Lawdog's Legion and Ace's Army, I'd be willing to do up to say $5 a month in a single pledge or can I sign up for more than one pledge?

All digital comics should be presented this way.

No, it's something Chuck Dixon created on spec some years ago. A sort of multiversal bounty hunter.

Sign up for Rebel's Renegades at $5/month. It's not clear from the listing, but the tiers stack. We'll get all that straightened out before the actual announcement tomorrow.

Ah they stack, ok will do. Thanks

Speaking of The Legend; the 7th Levon Cade book is out. As the hook says, "The action is fierce and never lets up.” https://www.amazon.com/Levons-Home-Levon-Cade-Book-ebook/dp/B0862GPNML/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=levon%27s+home&qid=1585288263&sr=8-2

Also, I don't usually listen to audiobooks, but I'm enjoying immensely this month's replatformer Wardogs Inc. #2: Hunter Killer! The story is smartly written and the narration and audio is excellent. I haven't even read Book #1 but I'll be picking up the audio for that one too.

I had kind of overlooked the Wardogs, but Castalia nailed it when they said: This book is seriously entertaining.

For some reason, I may have liked the webtoon version more than the print version. Less busy? It's been a while since I got the print issue so it could be a false impression.

Our formatting (TiaT #2) was designed from the start to go either way. I wasn't sure it would be viable though. Looking forward to that subscription.

I love the Wodehouse adaptation to comics. Sheer genius to do that.

It's funny though. In the books, The Basset was an unlovable gawdelpus because of her dippy, droopy, personality. But I always gathered she was a stunning good looker. Her "profile" what-what. She's rendered rather less than attractive here, and at first I was going to complain, but then realized... it's essential to her character that she be ultimately unlovable (except for newt-geeks), and rendering her as good looking as - say, Rebel - would destroy that.

So I am a little more appreciative of the job that comic artists do...

This is genius. Had no trouble following which made it a pleasure to read. I know it would be difficult but is there any way you can make the physical format look like this. Oft times I have difficulty reading conventional comic books. Perhaps because of dyslexia. Also love to hold the physical books and pass on to my children, grandchildren, etc. I surely would sign up for the new format though.
