Are you ready to ride again?

A meme warriors notes that Sony is thrashing about in response to the leaks of the SJW-converged The Last of Us II in a manner that may presage The Return of GamerGate:

Sony appears hellbent on starting GamerGate 2.0.
  • This wasn’t really a leak; it was clearly data released to do significant damage to the game. Sony has already spun at least two different narratives that don’t work around the leak.
  • It’s a barely disguised fetish simulator. It’s a snuff/torture/tranny fetish story where a mediocre stealth/cover shooter happens for a while.
  • You spend time having to play as the steroid monster, that’s apparently “female”, that killed the protagonist from the first game that everyone liked. With a golf club, for apparently no reason but Symbolism.
  • Most can guess exactly what the Creative Lead looks like without having to do more than describe the plot of this game.
  • This event will fit textbook examples for “Don’t Let Gammas get into positions of power”, Corporate Cancer and SJWs Always Lie.
GG was consumer revolt, but it always had that hard, clean hook of “ethics in gaming journalism”. Sony’s catastrophic screwups on the legal side means they’ve made the commentary community, which covers all of the non-Access Media places, angry at them and already very hostile. That gives six weeks before the game launches (it went Gold on Monday), which is just enough time for the professional gaming media to forget and then collectively insult everyone who doesn’t genuflect before the game when it launches.

That’s when this blows up, if Sony doesn’t realize how big of a disaster they’re headed into over the next month.

The firewood, kindling and gasoline are already there, the only thing lacking is the match. I would assume, today, that they will light it (because SJWs), but they could prevent it from happening. The Gaming Media will automatically SJW-shill it, but it’s whether they’re acting coordinated or not that’ll matter. None of the corporate media sites said anything until Sony made an official statement, which means Sony’s Marketing is pulling their strings. But if the Gaming Media is going to form a battleline, they’ve doubled down into a war they’ve already lost.

Also, the stupidity of the game is endlessly memeable in picture form. That’ll really make it fun. That’s the state of things at the moment. Corporate Cancer, indeed.

With this news I'm looking forward to the inevitable Razorfist rant, Kojima being one of his favorite subjects.

Someone I follow on Twitter mentioned a story about who had leaked the game's story. I replied that it won't change the fact that the game's story is a dumpster fire. It garnered some 20+ likes, which kind of surprised me because I expected some pushback. So there's at least some hope from the gaming community.

What I especially hate about all this is that there's this trend of killing off characters that you get attached to, because foxtrot all reasons. There isn't any proper resolution to their deaths, nothing noble, just...dead. I wanted to see this character's journey end peacefully because Joel, in my opinion, deserved it.

I'm supposed to believe that Joel is no different from other characters, including other villains? What? That's just lazy writing. Why am I supposed to care about the character then? ***SPOILER***: After learning all this from the second part, why should have I been affected when his daughter got shot in the stomach, being as it is he's supposedly just a monster too? WTF?

Checked out the director of Naughty Dog's latest venture - impressive credentials, the parenthesis club would have a hayday. Checked out one of his co-writers; she looks bitter and has a work called Demonology 101. This looks like a match made in hell.

Sony should cut the Dog loose. It had a great run but it needs to find a place to hide and go quietly.

"It’s a barely disguised fetish simulator. It’s a snuff/torture/tranny fetish story where a mediocre stealth/cover shooter happens for a while."

Great observation. Sony and Naughty Dog have really done a fantastic job in proving and validating all of your observations and insights about how SJWs operate. If you had a billion dollars of your own money to throw away on instructive books and videos, I doubt that you could have done the job as well.

These SJWs truly are like the Suicide Squad in Monty Python's Life of Brian. Just give 'em time. But just because they are doomed to ultimately take themselves out, doesn't mean we shouldn't be ruthless in banishing them from society. After all, while they live they will literally shit all over everything.

The Chans have been full of leaks and memes of the leaks. They've doubled down so hard that there is no way they'll be able to recover from this. Especially when you compare other AAA Titles out this year, like Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk 2077.

GamerGate 2.0: The Respawning is going to make the first one look like a tech demo. The Last of Us was acclaimed because of the narrative, but the Gameplay was mediocre. TLoU2 completely ruins the narrative, leaving the hollow shell of the Gameplay naked and exposed, which will further bring truth to the criticism that Sony exclusive games are mainly movies that happen to have some gameplay baked in. Especially when compared to the Gameplay behemoths that are releasing this year (Doom Eternal/Cyberpunk 2077).
As Vox predicts, this will probably do long-term damage to Sony's gaming credibilty.

Blogger Richard May 05, 2020 12:48 PM

I loved the first game so much, especially the story—a classic redemption plot—that this really hits me where I live. Granted, there were the usual signs of convergence: diversity casting, characters being gay for no reason, etc. But it was subtle enough that it didn't ruin the story. The emotional arc of the main character, Joel, in particular—what Hollywood calls the "hole in the soul"—I've never seen that done better.

I would love to see a massive consumer boycott of the sequel as well as a petition to withdraw the game and rewrite the story, sans Druckmann.

I didn't know much about the video game world so I looked this up and found a youtube video of Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog who said he was crying by the end of this. Based on this, and his physiognomy, I'm quite certain he is a Lambda. I have a Lambda who is in an Alpha position at my workplace. This is expected behavior. They do not respect the good, the beautiful and the true. They have their own agenda. They feel untouchable because they are Lambdas (and have HR's protection) and because they generally surround themselves with Deltas and Bravos who go along with his agenda. Not many alphas in Tech these days.

One thing about these over-hyped AAA games that has bothered me for the last decade or so is the absurdly high budgets. I'd like to know where that money goes. Considering how generic the games almost all are, my guess is up someone's nose either literally or metaphorically.

Blogger Shane Bradman May 05, 2020 1:13 PM

What concerned my about the first game was the fan reactions. They acted as if it was the greatest and most emotional story ever told. Videogames are not known to have good storylines, so that's a red flag. The next was that there was no talk of the gameplay. Games must be fun, but nobody talked about the fun.
Now with the shitshow of the second game, it's clear that they were constructing a subversive narrative all along. There was no gameplay for a reason, they want to erase what makes games games and replace it with propaganda.
DO NOT buy Naughty Dog games. Not even out of curiosity. None of their old ones either.
DO NOT shut up about the tranny killing the characters people loved. The goal is to make this game dead on arrival.

Sony is killing themselves with this idiocy of trying to close the door after the trans hobby horse beat its way out of the closet. Copyright striking anyone even talking about the leaks is just leading to the streisand effect.

Blogger Noah B. May 05, 2020 2:14 PM

I'd never heard of The Last of Us but it had quite a following. People have been looking forward to this release for months. With this kind of gulf between reality and expectations, and with the damage being intentionally self-inflicted, the backlash from gamers will be furious. It's so bad that it has me wondering if Sony leaked game plot to help defuse this cluster debacle.

What are Sony's options likely options here? If they can find a way to block this game from being released as-is, they should do it to protect the long term health of their brand.

Blogger Krymneth May 05, 2020 2:33 PM

If this does presage GG2.0, Sony sure is making darned sure to start out from the weakest position possible.

If I didn't already believe in Satan's real existence, I'd be searching for how on Earth some of these evils win as much as they do. It's like SJWs read Sun Tzu and do the opposite of everything he says. Patronage is almost a necessary condition for evil to be as successful as it is.

Blogger tublecane May 05, 2020 2:34 PM

I notice YouTube is complying with false copyright infringement claims against modest independent channels for the crime of talking about how bad the game looks. That virtually guarantees more people will hear about this impending disaster in time to save their money.

I am reminded of the MSM response to the Clinton campaign email hack, except this isn't a hack. You know, the whole thing about they can read the emails of their choosing on national t.v., but you can't visit Wikileaks independently because they were stolen!

@2- Pulling down established things is easier than creating your own stuff. Might be as simple as that.

Listening to this Druckmann chump, he doesn't know or care about things like character. The way he described it, the vampiric feminist shakedown expert whispered in his ear and he swapped characteristics on already written people willy-nilly because he couldn't think of a reason not to on the spot. Which could be B.S., but the fact that he even wants us to think that of him is instructive.

I don't want to speculate on his mental state, but he appears to be a pod person. True SJWs at the company work him with strings, presumably. And the funniest thing is that their choices will probably lead to backlash from the Alphabet Mafia over poor "representation." Because who wants to hunt lesbians or watch 'roided out She-Hulks kill these days?

The whole problem is actually devs with “dog” in their company name.

Beamdog did a perfect dry run of this four years ago when it put lunatic Hutt, Amber Scott, in charge of trannying up beloved Baldur’s Gate with Siege of Dragonspear — not surprising, to similar reaction.

Blogger Cataline Sergius May 05, 2020 4:25 PM

The tragically laughable part about all of this is how proud the creative director at Naughty Dog was that he had consulted with Anita Sarkeesian on all aspects of this games development.

This is the woman who didn't know the difference between Doom and Fallout and he clearly valued her opinion.

Blogger Cataline Sergius May 05, 2020 4:33 PM

When the spic control started, the reporter who presented Sony's side of things was actually referred to as "a trusted journalist." They had use the word "trusted."

And as far as I can tell he's only trusted because he works for Kotaku. Which I suppose means he's trusted by Sony, that's for sure.

From everything I've seen, this Druckmann guy is the ultimate Gamma boss.

I was a little surprised by that because normally Gammas look like Gammas but this guy is reasonably good looking. However, if you look at how he speaks on video, yes, it's obvious.

He literally can't make eye contact with the camera and constantly fidgets. The project must have been a nightmare to work on given how fast the people working on decided to go after their own company.

The silly thing is just how proud the SJWs are of these incredibly weak characters.

This is from one of the RE:Play posts from my blog. It's on the first Gabriel Knight game.

Gabriel, in a desperate search of inspiration for his next book (brother, I feel your pain) turns to the biggest mystery cliche there is and becomes a Jessica Fletcher, a mystery writer turned amateur sleuth. But Jensen made it work. Knight is so naturally intrusive and obnoxious that you can totally buy his butting into everybody’s business. Speaking of intrusive. Gabriel would shatter the nerves of modern Human Resources departments. He hits on every woman he meets and cops a feel off of his own assistant. Jensen built her character using fairly blunt and obvious ways. She constructed Gabriel using mega-blocks but the clichés did their job and you buy him as a character. You believe in the flow of it because you know Gabriel Knight would do the things he did.

This is from a thirty year old game, and it's more interesting than The Last of Us.

In the interest of full disclosure, I’m an old fart that never got into computer games. When I was a kid, I loved X-wing at the mall but didn’t have enough quarters. By the time I was older and could afford some kind of game, I didn’t have time.

That being said, I became interested in GamerGate when I saw what was happening with other forms of media covering for the gaming magazines. So a guy in the gamer media gave some obscure game a good review, and he got a bj from that not terribly attractive girl whose name I thankfully forget. What if a guy with a national or global audience likes Cramer falsely plugs an IPO like ARAMCO, does he get to marry Cobie Smulders? Apparently investors think its okay if the part of the media system is crooked when it involves $millions but other parts are up-front and honest when they involve $trillions?

Bernie Madoff wasn’t some guy pitching in the conference room of the local Holiday Inn, he was the former chairman of the NASDAQ.

Why do people still believe any valuation of anything? Why would anybody buy a game based on a positive review by somebody they don’t know personally? And why would they listen to financial news if the news lies about something as small as computer games? At least with politics, you can believe Orange Man Bad is ideological and their lies are to support their political objectives; the rest of the system just seems like a grift for the graft.

They have screwed the story and the lore.

I'm not saying the narrative on BL2 was perfect by any means nor the BL universe was that great to begin with.

Remember they started pushing gay exclusivity with the pre-sequel?

It was annoying but you could ignore it put it aside and enjoy the game...

Not any more, in BL3 the main story is mostly nonsense garnished with "in your face" gay inclusivity, all male protagonists are complete morons for the sake of being morons, they even botched Claptrap.

The whamen are all strong and independent, and call all the shots and make all the decisions. Yet they fail because the script requires them to, while they encourage each other constantly reminding themselves they can do it... because typical gamma writer.

The writing is atrocious, the humour (which was arguable in the BL series) is now utterly terrible 12 year old style jokes.

Story wise new characters come as annoying or stupid, it is very boring, at times you are not well integrated in the main story (sometimes you're present, some times you're not as in they are talking to you one second, the next you're not there) Long time characters are killed because game of thrones did it and now we have to kill characters to create drama and advance the plot because everything has to be game of thrones, because it was famous and people know about it, because, because.

The sad part is that technically BL3 is the best of the series. Gun mechanics is much improved, Graphics and sound top notch, I started to play on PS4 enthusiastically, then Moxy started kicking men in the balls and you go Girrrl power, then Sir Hammerlock would remind you every 5 mins he's gay and in love with Jackobs and that they are married.

At that point I ejected the disk put it in the cd-case and sold it on the 2nd hand shop.

The PC version is riddled with glitches and sold as defective goods courtesy of that DRM cancer called Denuvo, so it is a pass on PC too.

Hope this answers your question.

The pre-sequel is not that bad, the main story is a bit meh but the gameplay is good plus some new gravity mechanics, it feels more like extra DLC for BL2 than a standalone game.

However it has one of the best DLC of the series "The claptastic voyage" where you get to know the backstory of claptrap by going into his computer mind.

Both the Pre-sequel and the Claptastic Voyage cost peanuts in Steam.

When Druckmann got carte blanche like Lucas did with the prequels there was no one there to tell him NO. But NO is all the fans get.

"It’s a snuff/torture/tranny fetish story where a mediocre stealth/cover shooter happens for a while."

Hot damn, I love that description.

TLoU was never anything special. It was just a zombie apocalypse movie with the age old themes ("Like, did you hear humans are the REAL monsters?"). A fundamentally gamma story starring an Alpha-Coded White Male who saves some random dyke gurl since he's really an impotent tool for the dyke's safety.

Joel is allowed to be as prominent as he is in the first game since he's a functionally sterile male (no wife, no children, not forward with any woman) that is supportive of fags/dykes and never hates on Nigs. Who acts as the sexually non-threatening guardian of The Gurl who stands for The Good.

Joel getting killed off by a tranny in the sequel is just a conclusion to what the character was designed to be. Frankly it would've been most believable if the Fundy Christians were shown as one of the only reliably lasting communities since they'd have everything you'd need for such a scenario (racial/ethnic homogenity, no tolerance for sexual deviants since they're a threat to the community from both disease spreading and being subversive...).

I doff my hat to the Gamergaters.

The gamma Jeremys have infinite time, and there appear to be more of them

Borderlands 2 came out during the mid Obama years - a time before the stupid got out of control. The story was edgy and the characters depraved. It is a picture of a world without God, cartoonishly renditioned. Sounds like BL3 continued that decent into madness in attempts to one up the depravity in BL2+. Abd we wonder why the games industry is so messed up.

"Disobedient Canine" is a better name -- it's the phrase The Critical Drinker used repeatedly in his fantastic video discussing this nonsense... so the YT algo wouldn't auto-ban his video.
