Don't expect us to keep up the pace

But since the whole point was to enter this into the contest ending June 30th, Episode 3 of Midnight's War, THE BLOOD MUST FLOW, is already live on Webtoons.

Still no word, however, on The Legend Chuck Dixon's entry....

Those chairs and a couple characters seem familiar...

It was already good, but with the introduction of vampire court politics and external subversion, this is a must-read. Commerce, religion, government, military dynamics, and geopolitical intrigue with vampires? I can only imagine where this is going! Excellent work.

Just subscribed.

Very good. I hope you guys do more than 4 after the contest. I also hope you do a print, or at digital comic, version when it's done.

Varney the Vampyre was the first pulp comic vampire, and almost everyone has forgotten him. I don't believe he has ever had a movie or modern comic or even a significant book with him playing a significant role. Kim Newman may have him in the Anno Dracula books, but certainly not as prominently as this.

Is one episode per week asking too much? Already addicted...

Sorry if it is nitpicky to mention, but the line "Not an open war, your highness." looks like the speech bubble is pointing to the wrong character. It disrupted the flow for me.

This stuff is great

It's grand. Art and text in harmony, layout suited to be the media form, and if course an intriguing story. Bravo, Arkhaven!

I'm starting a charity to support the enslaved workers of Arkhaven comics.
Chained to their desks 20 hours a day, the beat of the kettle drum and the fear of the slavers whip should the unholy schedule not be met.

The blood-backed monetary system is interesting. But do they practice usury and fractional reserve lending?

@8 "Is one episode per week asking too much? Already addicted..."

Gregory, you've missed the schedule. *All* issues must be up on WebToon by the 30th: The withdrawal shakes will barely have gotten started!

Of course... what about AFTER the 30th? Will there be more?

I know our Dark Lord is an exquisite master of torture, but please sir, can we have another? And another after that?

Blogger Gregory the Tall June 28, 2020 12:50 PM

@14 did not miss the schedule, just wanted to express my fondness!

Not a comics guy but this is great! Any chance we can get the book or anime by next week?
