Congratulations, Britain

Britain is now free of the European Union:

The UK stopped following EU rules at 23:00 GMT, as replacement arrangements for travel, trade, immigration and security co-operation came into force. Boris Johnson said the UK had "freedom in our hands" and the ability to do things "differently and better" now the long Brexit process was over.

Although it may not have been as dramatic, this victory for Britain is actually more important than either WWI or WWII. Whether the British people use their freedom wisely or not is irrelevant, the point is that for the first time in decades, they are free to choose their own destiny.

Make no mistake, Brexit is a major blow for the globalists, as it punctured the illusion of inevitability behind which many of their advancements were made. And they know it, as Macron's bitter speech today underlines:

Emmanuel Macron sparked fury today by claiming Brexit was the product of 'lies and false promises' in a bitter broadside at Britain's departure from the EU. The French president lashed out at the UK's decision to quit the block on the night it finally took place, more than four years after the Brexit referendum.

He used his New Year address to his nation to castigate the UK's decision to go it alone after agreeing a trade deal which could damage the French fishing fleet - and his grip on power.

In the address delivered from the Elysee Palace, Paris, Mr Macron questioned the strength of Britain's sovereignty following its departure from the European Union. 'A few days ago, we reached an agreement to organise our future relations, defending our interests, our industries, our fishermen and our unity, he said in a video address,' he said. 'The United Kingdom remains our neighbour but also our friend and ally. This choice of leaving Europe, this Brexit, was the child of European malaise and lots of lies and false promises.'

English exports to the EU still must conform to EU rules and regulations, but it no longer has a vote on them. And the cherry on top is a hard border in the Irish Sea between Northern Ireland and Britain.

It may be one of the big reasons why they went forward with the COVID-hoax and the imposition of a brutal health dictatorship this year. To try and keep the system from falling apart.

Same with the election fraud. They're scared, so they're triggering all assets. Let's pray and hope it's already out of their control and they played too hard too fast.

I hope that Brexit serves as a model for the future, where separation between different societies happens, and happens peacefully. There is no doubt that a separation movement in the US has a harder hill to climb. But maybe...just maybe, it can be climbed.

I appreciate Vox Day's interest in my country.

That is more than I can say for a certain group of people who one might assume had my back - but don't: I refer to the BBC.

Last night at 11 pm I tuned into the news on BBC's Radio 4 for it was at that moment that we had left the Customs Union and the Single Market. In short we had regained control of our borders (albeit having left the Union on 31st January) and thus of the land which is our nations (the land of my ancestors) and of its surrounding seas. It was now free from certain foreign interference. I agree with Vox that it is indeed more significant the winning WW1 or WW2 (both pretty much own goals). This was how the BBC newsreader introduced the event, in her own words: that at 11pm the relationship of Gt Britain and the European Union had changed. That is as much as to say that on VE day our relationship with Germany's Third Reich had changed; that in 1536 our relationship with the Vatican had changed and that in A.D. 409 our relationship with the Roman Empire had changed.

I have no words.

There is no hard border. There was never going to be one. It was all a gambit to pressure the Uk in negotiations, ably assisted by our press.

His development over the past several years has been fascinating to watch.

Cue the whining voices complaining about having to fill out customs forms when posting to the EU and the increased cost of buying goods due to new duties, never having understood they were already paying 20% VAT on all purchases from the Eurozone, or having to go through the airport passport check in a different line when heading on their compulsory holidays, or not being able to so easily find Spanish cucumbers and strawberries in January. These people define their freedoms by the ease with which they can operate as machines of consumption, not the ideas which underpin their society and lives. I hope with all my heart this will turn out as a good thing for my country and its people, even if most of them don't deserve nor understand the greater ramifications of what it implies. Rule Britannia !

Blogger Cinqueports January 01, 2021 10:57 AM

The "globalists" (within and without of the EU, within and without of the UK) fought so hard against Brexit because once the UK successfully seceded more will follow. I hope to live long enough to spend lire drachmas and pesetas again.
Abolish national loyalty and you can enslave anyone. And that is what they ultimately wish for.
I would have preferred a no-deal; but politicians have an abhorrence of short-term chaos. Had he had the stones, Boris could have gotten a much better deal a month from now.

Blogger LiveForever January 01, 2021 11:00 AM

The best part of the agreement is on page 405:

“Article FINPROV.8: Termination
Either Party may terminate this Agreement by written notification through diplomatic channels. This Agreement and any supplementing agreement shall cease to be in force on the first day of the twelfth month following the date of notification.“

Britain can terminate the agreement in full at any time without any conditions attached, with a 12 months notice period.

As well, the EU cannot exist without Britain. It provided the EU with its only large and functioning employment market. Scandinavia and SW Germany cannot make up the difference (just look at PewDiePie). The rest of the EU countries cannot provide enough employment for their citizens. More and more EU citizens will stop wanting an EU that can no longer provide the hope of one day working in the UK.

@27 If Canada can grow vegetables for export in plastic greenhouses, surely the Brits can, too.

Also, one of my coworkers complains about working Americans being given a raw deal, while also whining that he won't be able to afford apples once Americans start picking them.

Meanwhile, one of my friends in downstate NY said that maintenance on his properties rose 15% in cost after Jan 20, 2017. While I understood that business was tougher for him, that was a 15% wage recovery.

People need to give sovereignty a try with it's attendant tradeoffs, some intractable problems will turn out better. They can always clap back on the chains later on if freedom doesn't suit them.

Imagine receiving such a rebuke from the club secretary should one not wish to renew ones golf club membership; and what is all this about Britain being a friend and ally. It seems to me that Macron is aiming that statement at Europe, not us. I read it as him saying that our leaving comes as a result of dissatisfaction with the European project and the way they all treated us as a member state... If so, he's absolutely correct. They took us for a ride for nearly 50 years, and are still at it, as this last week has proved. Fuck the EU. 'Scuse my French..

Funny you should mention that. I have family in and often visit a small quaint fishing town on Ireland's western shore. For millennia the locals would go out daily, catch the best salmon in the world and cook it up for dinner. When I last visited in 2017 the local fisherman were out of business, couldn't fish in their own waters and a fish packing factory was build on its shores. What once was free fish for the locals was now $15 a pound. If you could even find it! And all day long all you would see in the harbor was Spanish fishing fleets sucking up all the fish in massive nets.
The EU sucks and Ireland God willing will be nexit.

@36 If Canada can grow vegetables for export in plastic greenhouses, surely the Brits can, too.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? The irony is that nearly 100% of our domestic produce that requires manual harvesting is done by huge numbers of seasonal migrants who come over from Europe. This past summer the farmers were all in a tizzy about it because of the coof restrictions. Lucky for us our gov organised an emergency airlift of thousands of Romanians to pick all the fruit so we could keep our students safely locked away in their halls of residence browsing Instagram and spending their student loan on Amazon.

We call it 'the Norman yoke'. The sentiment had no small part to play in the English Revolution, and was right to some extent, no matter how faltering the result of that period of folly. It has since then been heavily re-entrenched, becoming law under the Enclosures Act, and expanded with just about every other kind of yoke joining in too. We might well start talking about the Brahmin yoke before long, if the cowboys and Indians of our current Parliament get their way.
