Deleting Mailchimp

Your account has been closed.

Thank you for having been a Mailchimp customer since Nov 14, 2015. This confirms your request to close your account for Castalia House. Your account will be moved into Mailchimp's routine data deletion cycle.

We'd love the opportunity to earn back your business. If you'd like to try us again, our support department is always happy to get you started.

This was not a deplatforming. We canceled our two paid plans there because it's important not to support converged corporations that deplatform people in order to enforce their ideology. We've already found another way to stay in touch with Castalia readers via email.

And speaking of not using converged companies, I'm very pleased to be able to announce that Castalia and Arkhaven are now able to do direct crowdfunding campaigns on our own sites. We don't plan to do anything on this front until the March-April timeframe when we finish delivering on most of the original AH campaign, but it is great to no longer be dependent upon using sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

Big news on your crowdfunding ability! Congrats Vox

My wallet will be ready.

"We'd love the opportunity to earn back your business. If you'd like to try us again, our support department is always happy to get you started."

The hubris, it is strong. But they wouldn't be SJWs otherwise, would they?

Blogger Gilbert Ratchet January 05, 2021 9:29 PM

I'm surprised such a converged company calls itself "Mailchimp" and employs one as its logo. We need a social media outrage campaign!

Blogger Darren January 05, 2021 9:30 PM

Mailchimp already chose a side, in opposition to the Good Beautiful True -- how arrogant for an email sending service to think they won't suffer any downside of openly banning folks for their political views. They had One Job...

Thanks VD for reminding us that one bonus of becoming anti-fragile is that it enables you to tell the converged Big Tech beasts you are de-platforming *them* before they can do it to you. And why.

Corporate repentance might never happen, but you never know who in the internal communication chain might get slightly red-pilled -- so pull no punches, let them know where we stand AND that we are not the minority...

Because in this time in history where they hate us and no longer hide it, we must stop feeding them, whether with wallets or eyeballs. #GetWokeGoBroke

It's always refreshing to see someone put their money where their mouth is, not that you've ever had a problem with that, Vox.

As an aside, I'm going to the Rally tomorrow with a few friends. If anyone is so inclined, I'd appreciate some prayers. Not for me, but for our country and our people. We need all the help that God might see fit to give us, even though we definitely dont deserve it.

Blogger Cash January 05, 2021 9:48 PM

Great to see.

I don't think easily replaceable tech companies like Mailchimp will get the same mileage out of virtue signaling like hard to replace network businesses have.

Blogger Ahărôwn January 05, 2021 9:51 PM

Thanks for the continuous updates, Vox - I look forward to see what you have in store in the future.

Blogger D. January 05, 2021 10:02 PM

Watching what you do with the internet is really interesting. Good luck Vox Day!

Blogger dangerdog January 05, 2021 10:06 PM

I look forward to direct crowdfunding. I appreciate not supporting converged companies in any way.

Blogger Angular_bear January 05, 2021 10:10 PM

Great job SDL.

Blogger Cabraxas January 05, 2021 10:34 PM

Congratulations, VD! You ROCK!!

And you don't need to wait until March/April to crowdfund, my wallet's at your disposal this very minute.

Blogger Edjamacator January 05, 2021 10:36 PM

Good to hear. Think you may branch out to do crowdfunding for others, too, becoming a non-converged Indiegogo or are you just planning on limiting it to your own interests?

Blogger David The Good January 05, 2021 10:40 PM

A good alternative to Mailchimp would be quite helpful.

Blogger rumpole5 January 05, 2021 10:45 PM

You are inspiring us all to carefully examine our personal buying habits. Thank you. No more converged big box patronage!

"it's important not to support converged corporations that deplatform people in order to enforce their ideology"

Did you also inform them about the reason you broke away with them?

Blogger Dafo January 05, 2021 10:47 PM

Vox, all those pieces are starting to shape up to an empire!
I’m glad you’re showing people how it’s done.

Blogger machinephilosophy January 05, 2021 11:06 PM

Exemplary. Like you said a couple of weeks ago, we must stop all support of everything that is destroying us either directly or indirectly.

I'm looking for alternatives to -everything-, including Walmart who gave $33,000,000 to BLM.

Blogger CM January 05, 2021 11:15 PM

Awesome! And I need to buy the third volume of moth and cobweb.

Blogger Jon D. January 06, 2021 12:02 AM

I did the same when they canceled Alex Jones, got off of mailchimp and onto an alternative.

Awesome news on the crowdfunding campaigns. Gotta become anti-fragile now more than ever.

Blogger Jeff January 06, 2021 12:10 AM

VD - What's your alternative? I currently use MailChimp for marketing/comms to clients, but need to replace it.

Blogger Jamin990 January 06, 2021 12:47 AM

Itll be interesting to see what the next crowdfunding projects will be.

Blogger Rattlesnake_Kid January 06, 2021 1:41 AM

Blogger Beery Swine January 06, 2021 1:55 AM

I know this is not at all on topic, but uh, this is a very interesting tiny little infographic. Totally SFW, btw.

Normally I would expect you to leverage your capacity; but in this case, competing with the existing crowdfunders would probably just motivate MasterCard to get you banned from all payment processors.

Blogger OvergrownHobbit January 06, 2021 2:59 AM

Cool beans.

You might try a Swiss company called Bulkmailer

Blogger travvyboy January 06, 2021 5:14 AM

This is inspirational. All of the rest of the right wing normies are sitting around complaining about deplatforming while you've already moved on.

Blogger Jay Alan Ungart January 06, 2021 5:58 AM

Getting ready to pitch money at Arkhaven and Castalia House!

Blogger VD January 06, 2021 6:04 AM

Did you also inform them about the reason you broke away with them?

Yes. I specifically mentioned their deplatforming of St. Ephan.

Blogger VD January 06, 2021 6:06 AM

Think you may branch out to do crowdfunding for others.

We probably will at some point for our own authors, for their works that we publish. I don't have any desire to set up an actual crowdfunding business, but then, I didn't want to set up a comics publisher either. We'll just see how it goes.

Blogger Greg Hunt January 06, 2021 10:12 AM

When I follow the "Mailing List Signup" link, it takes me to Castalia House. When I enter my email and click the button, it generates an error page pointing at Mailchimp.

Blogger Avalanche January 06, 2021 12:09 PM

Waaaay OT: Too cool! If all-y'all Castalia Library and Libraria Castalia folks want to see how the gilding is put on the book edges:

Blogger Killua January 06, 2021 1:08 PM

Congratulations! I am very excited about this. The crowdfounding field certainly needs new players.

Follow-up a month later. The Verge reporting it's actually not SJW FRIENDLY
