Sports journalists are SJW masochists
Who really want to lose their jobs. That's the only thing you can conclude after reading this article at Sports Illustrated which celebrates the fact that Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari is consciously infuriating Kentucky basketball boosters by taking the BLM knee before Kentucky games.
When he took the knee, John Calipari had to know what was coming.
He’s lived in Kentucky, one of America’s reddest states, since 2009. In the November presidential election, Donald Trump captured 62 percent of the vote in the state and won 118 out of 120 counties—the only exceptions were the two biggest, Jefferson and Fayette, home to the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky, respectively. Jefferson might be the only county in the state that isn’t a majority UK fan base, and even here the Big Blue following is sizable.
In other words, it stands to reason that the fans who passionately follow Calipari’s team are overwhelmingly conservative Republicans. And conservative Republicans are overwhelmingly not in favor of athletes kneeling in protest during the national anthem—especially college athletes. And yet there was Cal joining his Kentucky players on one knee before the Wildcats played at Florida Saturday, three days after the deadly insurrection in Washington, D.C.
It was absolutely the time to make the statement. Risks and all. Maybe this was the eternally combative Cal picking a new fight—with his own constituency.
In that moment, a coach whose approval rating already had plunged after a 1-6 season start—worst for Kentucky in more than a century—took even more on his shoulders. In the authoritarian world of college sports, some coaches would have vetoed the idea altogether. Others would have tried to talk their players out of making a statement at a charged moment in time. Still others would have approved it but not participated.
Cal joined them, putting him on a very short list of college coaches who have taken a knee during the national anthem before a game.
Same SI journo six months later: "why come Coach Calipari lose job? why come ME lose job?" Because you know what is a great idea in a collapsing economy? Drive away everyone who provides the revenue.

"why come Coach Calipari lose job?"
More likely they'll be arguing this is a good thing, because old white men can't relate to young black men because of their lifetime of unacknowledged racism. Coaching demographics should mirror player demographics. White people should still be paying the bills though, obviously.
I used to be a huge sports fan. Now I use my free time to load more ammo. Pro and college sports are dead to me when there are literally an infinite number of better things to do.

"Insurrection".
You people have no idea about the furor this has stirred up here. We have 3 things here we celebrate: horse racing, bourbon, and UK basketball. The fan base, of which I am one, was happy to let C as l's antics slide when he was winnjng games at a record clip. Now, he is losing them at a record clip, and the players are dissing the history of the team. These players were already unlikeable with their "me first" attitude. Then when the coach sets a Kentucky kid, who has put in his time, over a 5 star freshman who can't dribble, let alone shoot! When the base complained about that, Cal said he doesn't play favorites. Literally 5 minutes later said his 5 star needed time to be able to miss. He lost a lot of the fan base then. There has been a almost steady bunch of haters because Cal's insistence that the NBA draft was the greatest night for UK.
Cal can take all his 5 stars, and his liberal crap, and leave. Like Al McGuire said, "They had it before you. They have it with you. And they'll have it when you're gone." McGuire understood UK basketball.

As Twitter and Facebook will learn. What are they today? -$51B? With a "B"?
I haven’t missed sports at all.
The faggy beta male low t-cell count vibes from Mitch Mcconnell have rubbed off on the equally uninspiring Kentucky bakka-ball team.
Having lived in the fine state of Kentucky for most of my adult life, this is just...
I don't recognize my country anymore, nor my so-called countrymen.
Our popular sports - football, baseball, and basketball - were indeed once integral parts of our American culture.
They've been stolen from us, corrupted and profaned by people who hate us.
They lied when they said they simply wanted to assimilate. There is no assimilating. There is only the killing of us, and wearing our skins to blend in for a while before the true horror begins.
If you assume their goal is to collapse the economy in order to take totalitarian control what they're doing is logical. Communists aren't usually able to seize power when the country is stable. If a crisis doesn't exist they have to create one.
If he wishes to worship at the BLM altar, who am I to stop him! I don't wish to interfere in any man's worship of his G-d. Then again, there is the Second Commandment.
Having read Will Leitch's book "God Save The Fan" many years ago, it details a story where he was covering the locker room of some prominent NCAA or NBA Basketball game, and he ended up kneeling right in front of one of the star players as the player toweled himself off, all to attempt to get a few mumbled words for an interview. I'll spare you the details, but suffice to say, sports journalists are whores of the highest order, willing to subject themselves to anything for the attention of they athletes they worship.
@9.:They lied when they said they simply wanted to assimilate. There is no assimilating. There is only the killing of us, and wearing our skins to blend in for a while before the true horror begins.
It's heartening to hear another publicly acknowledge the evermore blatantly obvious that most pretend to not know.
Time to create our own “pro” sports leagues.
...three days after the deadly insurrection in Washington, D.C.
Oooh. Two or three bodies now counts as deadly. Guess they'd have to break out the ol' thesaurus to find even deadlier words than deadly if they were covering the tiff on the Eastern Front back in '41-'45.
Didn't read corporate cancer.
The writer sets the juxtaposition and then says "it absolutely was the right time to make a statement" like his subjective opinion is right and not opinion. What a tool.

I'm right there. I started down the road right around the start of Goodell-era NFL when the 24-hour coverage started getting ramped up and more annoying. The SJW BS made it worse and now it's all worthless. Every one of these organizations is so infected, the only way forward is to kill them off and save the archival footage for the next incarnation. Eventually all these worthless dorks will eat themselves.
It's like they are more interested in social justice now, than playing the sport they are organized to play. If only a word existed...
Twas the hour before an NFL kick-off, when all through the country,
Hardly a patriotic person was watching, because of kneeling, selfish, and overpaid simian monkeys.
Their hatred for America, the flag, and for all the good that America stood,
was on full display, and those fans with the money, now understood.
These BLM communist hate all of us and we can't change that,
but we can take our money elsewhere,
and be had a better time than insulted with leftist political crap.
We came to be entertained, and take a break from the weekly grind,
but you will simply not allow us to have a good time.
We are not and ever 'da rasis', but you have forced our hand.
We will simply find better things to do on a Sunday afternoon.
So take heart oppressed players in your empty stadiums and reduced income to,
Good riddance and may every America hating sports ball player go bankrupt and soon.
Try making that kind of bank in Africa or Europe or anywhere, but it can only happen in
America where some dreams can still come true.

Down $51B out of $500+B. Sure, it's down, but it's not into panic territory by a long shot. If they do dip too far, expect the institutional investors to prop them up with free money.
He
As a resident of KY and a former fan, I can tell you he’s killing the support for UK. I don’t know anyone who keeps up with them anymore.
I’d say Cal will be chased out of Lexington with his mudshark daughter soon.
always been that way VD. in the 50s it became a requirement for them to fellate black jocks.
A 1-6 start suggests that Coach Calipari knows he's going to be canned, so he went woke in the hopes of getting a virtue-signalling position at a woke university somewhere while claiming he was fired for his anti-racism.
@jr I call dibs on the Washington Whities.
This article reminded me to remove Kentucky Sports Radio from my RSS reader. (Yes, I'm showing my age that I'm still using RSS...) It's bad enough that I've been occasionally reading their converged nonsense; Matt Jones who runs the place wants to be the next Boss Tweed of Kentucky Democratic politics, and then wondered why the TV station took away his show.
US Basketball has become a racket. Good players might play in middle school games, but they quickly get pulled into AAU ball in high school. No one there cares about winning or losing, it's about getting on the NBA track.
Now, college wins don't matter either. It takes most of a season to adjust to the faster game, and then you're on to the next level.
I agree with Calipari that one has to be interested in the kids. However, UK pays his salary, and UK gets that money from the suckers watching ESPN. He should quit UK and either coach a G league team or start a professional one-year program that just trains up NBA stars and doesn't care about wins.
“ three days after the deadly insurrection in Washington, D.C.”
I have noticed that everyone in the MSM world is using these terms to describe a peaceful rally, but arson and looting, property damage and so on were “peaceful protests”. They aren’t even trying anymore.
I really enjoyed college football. My school was a high second tier powerhouse behind the first tier SEC. I would rarely miss a game. Then the coach marched arm and arm with the
black players to a BLM event in August. I couldn't even tell you who they beat in their bowl game or what their record was. There is no going back either.
Sports journalists have always had an axe to grind against athletes and sports in general. I bet it boils down to the fact that back in highschool, the athletes dated the hot cheerleaders and they didn't because they sucked at sports.
I'm reminded of my youth. Cal Ripken Jr. was worshipped by everyone especially during the seasons leading up to the 2131 record. Everyone rooted for him, except Ken Rosenthal. Rosenthal, back then, was a sports columnist for the Baltimore Sun. The guy wrote nothing but negativity about him. Harping on his batting stance, average, hits, etc. He even rhetorically floated the idea of benching him and ending the streak. He definitely wore out his welcome with his obvious bias.
Reading Rosenthal's columns forever changed my opinion sports journalists. They're vindictive smart boys. Everyone of them.
As someone very, VERY familiar with Kentucky, the University and the basketball program I'm actually shocked that the fanbase responded this way. Yes, Kentucky is very RED and a Trump stronghold, but for years and years everyone has been captivated by the basketball team and seemed to always look the other way no matter what they did. Calipari is a flaming leftist and his views have largely been overlooked but this might be the first case in which someone with a "lifetime contract" loses it while still alive.

Anyone who pays for internet is FORCED to pay for ESPN thanks to underhanded manipulation by none other than Devil Mouse in the early 00's. Not TV, Not Streaming, just fees to ISPs. They somehow arm-twisted the ISP's into forcing you to pay for ESPN.
The Streak was pretty dumb, anyway. Most managers (and for very good reasons!) give their starters a day of rest every two or three weeks. Cal's managers didn't. So, so what?!
(And how often did Calunnecessarily play through mild injury instead of being smart and resting to heal?)
It's like the whole Jackie Robinson bullshit. Jackie didn't own the team. He didn't sign himself to a contract. He didn't name himself to the active roster. He didn't order himself into the lineup.
Branch Rickey broke the color "barrier", not Jackie.
By this point, it should be old hat we've seen it so many times, but the open contempt for your customer base still stuns me every time I see it. At some point, all the other explanations break down and you're left with demonic.
I played US football in high school. By the time I went to college even ROTC was playing soccer instead. The gayness just continues to spread.
How bad will this hurt him? I don't know, I keep seeing all of these numbers about sports on the decline etc...but here in MO I am not seeing it.
A couple of times a week someone on the job will say something on the lines of, Trump is gonna pull it off, the commies are going down and did you watch the Chiefs game? Mahomes is the bestest ever!
I never watched sports much to begin with, just wasn't my thing. My brother played every sport in HS and was always a loyal football fan. He has given it up due to BLM and the quarterback that wears Fidel shirts. But most people I interact with will not give it up. Typical response is that as long as they don't see it everything is cool. And of course, freedom of speech! Clearly these people have no understanding of the 1st.
If I want to enjoy a good basketball game these days I simply watch the movie "Hoosiers" on my dvd player.
But of course based upon today's political correctness insanity, "Hoosiers" would be considered racist due to the fact the Hickory team consisted of all white boys who, in the state championship game, defeated the South Bend Central Bears who consisted of all black boys.
What a great movie it is! Certainly in my Top 10 list of all-time best/great sports movies, if not on the top of my list.
My take is sports guys and girl reporters are TV people first, sports second. They have to get along at the station, where everyone is so far left they legit think Pelosi is a conservative.
Excellent point about sports "journalists"!
It's like prison guards: overcompensating dorks who are forever pissed that they were *always* picked last in gym class. And they wanted to become cops but couldn't cut it.
NO ONE respects WEAKNESS and that is EXACTLY what these idiots are showing when they bow down to the racial "injustice" that they worship! Get over it - what happened hundreds or fifty years ago is over - let it go - get on with your lives - support yourself - raise your OWN children - get married - have a FAMILY - obey laws - respect others and their property! Do that an no one will give a rat's ass what color your skin is!!
@33. You know, I've brought up certain aspects of the Jewish Question myself.....but when you do it, it feels artificial. Everything you say feels like a brain-addled Talmudic LARP. I've read a few pieces on your blog, and your contempt for Christianity is obvious.
I suggest you read the Bible more, and sperg out less.
John "One And Done" Calipari. Get them a pro contract after their freshman year so they can make millions of dollars spending most of their professional careers on the bench. But at least they aren't scoring points for another team. Calipari is a role model in his own mind.
Same SI journo six months later: "why come Coach Calipari lose job? why come ME lose job?"
"Coach Calipari, we can haz learn to code together!"
Guys, just stop watching sports. Also try not to buy anything from the advertisers. Of course if you're not watching the sports, you don't know which advertisers to avoid buying from.
$86 million lifetime contract = The most expensive way possible to empower an idiot.
Coaches are influencers. You can bet they're being paid - by the same people that are showering Cares Act trillions.
No, he didn't "[have] to know what was coming." He had to know in the short- and medium-term no one would punish him for rubbing guys customer base's face in his filth. That he would in fact get pats in the back from those he thinks ultimately matter.
On the other hand, he probably doesn't know what's coming eventually.
I stopped all sports about 4 years ago. Even the NHL has gone woke. I don’t miss it one bit
@35- Jackie was a Public Relations (and baseball player on the side) intermediary between the ones who actually "broke the barrier" and everyone else. His job was to be the right kind of black. Much like Neil Armstrong would've been a failure if he got caught waving his privates at a cop, no matter how well he did whatever it was astronauts did.
I won't underestimate why being someone most people don't want to lynch is of historical importance. They tried to turn Jackie into a politician afterwards and it didn't amount to much. Lacked the correct blood admixture of an Obama, I guess.
It’s funny to watch the players kneel...like those spoiled AAU 5 star brats have lived such hard lives. The freaks have been pampered and catered to for years. They wouldn’t know hardships if it was attached to a white girls booty.
The best part about MAGA is the exposing of all the scum and filth.
@Kevin
Something about that name 'Rosenthal'. Can't quite put my finger on what it is.
I have a screenshot of this quote that I use on Twatter now and then. Maybe I need to use it more often. Because it's never off point when in the context of some asshole cuck (or blue wave Karen) of a journalist writing elitist asshole things.
"The press is a gang of cruel faggots. Journalism is not a profession or a trade. It is a cheap catch-all for fuckoffs and misfits—a false doorway to the backside of life, a filthy piss-ridden little hole nailed off by the building inspector, but just deep enough for a wino to curl up from the sidewalk and masturbate like a chimp in a zoo-cage."
If you don't already know who write that, then you're definitely a normie.
P.S. The S. was short for "Stockton". For some reason I did not know that until just now.
P.P.S. It was not Dick Stockton who penned that quote. Obvs.
I saw a Donovan Sharpe video recently where he featured a Jason Whitlock article stating that black male coaches do best at universities like Duke where the black athletes are more likely to come from two-parent homes, and that black men raised by single moms are more willing for some reason to be led by white leftists than by black men.
Sounds like this John Calipari dude basically did this in solidarity with the fatherless black dudes that he's coaching.

Way back when, college BB used to be great. Think of the 60's when Bill Bradley was a big star. None of that is true today. You get HS stars who go to the Top 25 teams, play 1 or 2 years and leave for the NBA. Its just mercenaries.

I found this when translating a Russian joke book years ago.
A doctor at a physicist and a communist are arguing about which is the first profession.
The doctor says obviously doctors are first, because in Genesis, it says that God created Adam from the dust.
The physicist disagrees, saying that Genesis says that two days earlier, God created the earth and the heavens out of the chaos...
The communist interrupted: AND WHO DO YOU THINK CREATED THE CHAOS IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?!
This needs to be pounded in repeatedly!

On the topic of sports, did anyone see the Kansas City Chefs game against the Falcons on 12/27 where Younghoe Koo missed the tieing field goal that would have sent the game info overtime? That ball was controlled with a gyroscope to cause him to miss.
Take a look at the video of the ball's flight in .25 speed. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ong86hFuAnM&t=13m11s
You can see the ball begin its trajectory with backwards tumble. Midflight its motion is suddenly and momentarily converted into a violent clockwise spin. Immediately following the spin, the ball returns to a backwards tumble, but the direction has changed. This spontaneous change in momentum caused the ball to narrowly miss the upright.
Did you see the change in flight dynamics? Did you watch at .25x speed?
https://old.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/klbahc/highlight_koo_misses_the_gametying_kick/ here is a video where you can see the kick from the back. Watch the ball right as it passes in front of the guy wearing a purple shirt.
The curve is extraordinary because the flight dynamics suggest an external force was applied. The curve isn't even a curve, it is a bend.
I originally noticed it because Asians, generally, don't choke when it comes to executing a well-rehearsed action. Just kidding, it's because I thought a Chefs player got a finger on it and I wanted to see who.
The home team provides the balls for a match, and there has been controversy in the past regarding the amount of air in the balls, so if the ball has a gyroscope, then the chiefs organization is responsible.
I don't really care to do anything with the information that a member of a cartel is trying to put one over on the other members of the cartel. As far as I can tell, it doesn't matter. Just don't bet on football I guess.

Agree, but with caution. Jason Whitlock has left under cloudy circumstances almost immediately after he wrote a column for The Blaze. Yes, The Blaze isn't a good right wing website but between what appears to be Whitlock's dismissal because of it, Clay's previous voting record, and his primary concern being money and not the good, beautiful, and true follow outkick but don't put unearned faith into him or Outkick into being a right wing sports network.
Practicing sports is healthy. Watching other people do it, not so much.
With the various lockdowns, and pauses in sport leagues, many people noticed that going a few weeks without watching sports did them no harm. The pro-sports business is in a non-easy situation, yet some sports pro insist on biting the hand that feed them.
A legitimate question some students might ask is : "what is the benefit for me in paying thousand bucks of tuition fees so that my university can field a Division 1 NCAA team ?". That would be a tough question to answer.
I have an idea for sport, inciting SJW and their converged outfits to double down into nullity. In the case of sports stupidity it would literally be a black hole, a weak one but a black hole none the less.
I personally am grateful for the retards that have infiltrated pro sports. For at least 20 years I listened to a Toronto all sports radio station every day on the way to work and whenever in my car. A couple of years ago it morphed to an all sports station with a goodly sprinkle of Trump bashing, you know, real sports radio. Around February last year, it became an all corona virus station with a very small sprinkle of sports mixed in. That was what woke me up to the flu hoax that was afoot, and sent me on my journey for truth.
Much of my life has changed since then. I have no desire to ever again follow pro sports. For years now I have been skeptical of the validity of the outcomes, and the technological enhancements added to ensure fair outcomes. Fuzzball taking the knee was a huge warning shot over my bow, revealing how sports had grown to a powerful political tool and I want nothing to do with celebrity athletes telling me how to think.
I stumbled into this saloon along my truth journey and pop in from time to time, but I think I have found the real truth in God. I walked away from Him over 40 years ago and now, most of the time I spent following sports has been replaced with learning the truth in the Word. And for that, I am truly grateful.
