Sowing the red seeds

Ukraine knows they have no chance against Russia, but its foreign leaders can get paid well by offering up its land and people to serve as bait in the neoclowns' endless War on Russia

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced this week that the country’s National Security and Defense Council had approved a strategy that is aimed at retaking Crimea and reintegrating the strategically important peninsula.

Crimea, a peninsula in the Black Sea, was annexed by Russia in March 2014, following a US-backed, far-right coup in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.

Announcing the move on Twitter, Kuleba wrote, “The signal is clear: we don’t just call on the world to help us return Crimea, Ukraine makes its own dedicated and systemic efforts under President [Volodymyr] Zelensky’s leadership.”

As part of its “3 pillars” strategy for retaking Ukraine, Kuleba notably stated that Zelensky’s administration sought “full Ukrainian sovereignty” over not just Crimea but that of the port city of Sevastopol as well, which serves as the home of the Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet.

Following Kuleba’s comments, Ukrainian President Zelensky announced via Twitter the creation of a Crimean Platform Initiative which the Ukrainian government described as “a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to improve the efficiency of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, step up international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupying power and to achieve the de-occupation of Crimea and its return to Ukraine.”

The seeds of failure are always planted in the soil of previous success.

I don't know that I agree with the assessment. In 2014 Ukrainians grabbed their shotguns, squirrel guns and what have you and went to war with the invading Russian spec forces.

They managed to chew up a number of Russian Spec Forces, and the Russians lost large numbers of troops to these basically citizen militias. They had to bring in mobile crematoria as the coffins going home were causing massive unrest among the Russian population. When you only have one child, and they are killed, your line is dead.

As a measure of the resolve of the Ukrainians to frustrate Russian plans for "Novy Rossiya" (New Russia) the Ukranian forces called "cyborgs" for their immense heroism held out against massive Russian bombardment of Donetsk airport for 242 days. 1542 men died there holding their positions, before finally being forced to evacuate.

As Poroshenko noted: "We have the honor to live at one time with incredible heroes who have already become a legend. But they are heroes. Not a myth, but a pure truth. A fierce confrontation between Ukrainian soldiers and Russian aggressors in the Donetsk airport was finished at the end of January. The walls didn’t withstand. But Ukrainian warriors withstood, did not break, did not bend and gained immortal glory. And that is why they won."

Russia knows they may well break their teeth on Ukraine - the most battle hardened army in Europe.

Maybe someone here can explain the Crimean dilemma in a concise nutshell. From what I had gathered these last several years is that Crimea has a majority Russian population that voted almost unanimously to rejoin Russia. It happened as a result of the coup which put Ukraine within the EU after the previous leader chose not to join.
I don't understand Ukraine's argument, why it is that Russia should give up a vital naval port, after a Kosovo style referendum set the new political map.

The Golden Horde of Djengis Khan depopulated the province and settled it with their own people, the ancestors of the Crimean Tartars.
Crimea was a separate country in the Middle ages, the center of the Crimean Khanatate. It was also the center of the European slave trade with literally tens or hundreds of thousands of Slavic and German slaves kidnapped by Jews throughout Eastern and Central Europe passing through on their way to Constantinople.
In the 18th century, Russia conquered Crimea and took control during the Russian-Turkish war.
During WWII Stalin determined that a reasonably ethnically pure and martially ordered tributary kingdom and potential German ally so near the heart of the Soviet Empire was a bad idea, so he once again depopulated it, shipping the Crimean Tartars to the South and East, dissolving the former Crimean Socialist Republic, and forming the Crimean Oblast. He resettled it with Ethnic Russians.
In 1954, in attempt to bind Ukraine to Russia more tightly, Krushchev pushed through what amounted to a donation of the Crimean Oblast to Ukraine.

Crimea is critical to Russia, Sevastopol being the home of the Black Sea Fleet. When the US installed a (((puppet government))) in Ukraine, Russia simply took control of Crimea. After the fact, they held a vote to legitimize the move, with 98% approval. Which should not be a surprise, since over 90% of the population is ethically and culturally Russia and less than 5% is Ukrainian. However moribund Russia's economy, it doesn't begin to descend to the depth of corruption and poverty that Ukraine's does.

Also, I have been thinking that in those latter events, what is the likelihood of forced labor i.e. 'conscription' (totally not slavery) for those who have the skills (White people) to keep utilities running? Sort of a New Deal (e.g. CCC) on steroids except now even more Communism?

@30. SonyAD - I get that you are anti-Ukrainian, but your "facts" are wrong in large part.

1. All the countries in Europe sit on land that isn’t theirs. There are territorial disputes going back a thousand years.

2. I am not anti-Russian or Ukrainophile, but one must quit espousing the Russian line which is antithetical to history. Ukraine is actually Rus, “Russia” is actually Ugro-Finnic and was not called Russia until Peter the Great who stole the history of Rus/Ukraine for their own and could then claim to be “third Rome”.

See: http://euromaidanpress.com/2014/05/14/how-moscow-hijacked-the-history-of-kyivan-rus/

3. It has also been conclusively proven by Dutch researchers that the Russians did indeed shoot down the civilian airliner. There is photographic and voice evidence of this from the Russians. They evidently thought it was a military plane. It wasn’t.

4. When Ukraine got its independence from the USSR, Russia and other countries including the U.S. guaranteed the borders of Ukraine in exchange for Ukraine giving up their nukes. How’d that work out for Ukraine? Sebastopol was Ukrainian under the agreement as well, and Russia leased half of Sebastopol naval base for their ships. Russian even renewed their lease. That shows Russia knew that Sebastopol and Crimea were not “Russian” and had accepted the situation until Putin’s idea of taking Eastern Ukraine and Crimea to form Novy Rossiya.

That has been a failure due to the Russian failure to drive the Ukrainians from the area, in spite of the fact that large parts of the Ukrainian military were Russophiles and refused to fight to preserve Ukraine. It was the citizen soldiers who stopped the Russian forces and prevented Novy Rossiya from coming into being linking Donbass with Crimea.

"The Ukrainians lost their warm water port in Crimea and the Eastern half of their country, it was an absolute disaster for them. The "Russians" weren't officially in Donestk or Donbass, those were irregulars fighting the Ukrainian army."

You are also wrong on the size of Donbas. It is actually a small area in east Ukraine - look at a map. The Ukrainians held them to two small areas.

You have not bothered to get beyond your propaganda. The Russian "little green men" were not "irregulars" they were Russia Spec Ops units. Once they had control of Donbas the Russians sent in whole army units and other spec ops units which the Unkrainian citizen soldiers chewed up.

"The Ukrainians would get demolished if they tried to "retake" anything."

Possibly, but so would the Russians. The Ukrainians are now well equipped and battle-hardened. Russia would launch WWIII with an all-out invasion into Ukraine to try and retake Ukraine. Ukraine on the other hand has no interest in territory other than what they were guaranteed by Russian and the West.

The two Donbas areas and Crimea are breaking Russia financially. Eventually Russia will either have to live up to her agreements and vacate, or go for the conquest of Ukraine prior to moving further into Eastern and Central Europe.

Blogger Pathfinderlight April 01, 2021 2:15 PM

Under the Soviet Union, the Russians imported thousands of ethnic Russians to live in Crimea, just like they exported millions of Ukrainians to live in other parts of the SU. There was a long, interesting video from Alexander Mercouris on the harm done to the Ukrainian aviation industry in general and gas turbines in particular. I wrote a summary for another blog and pasted it here. Jump to a summary at 25 min in to avoid the whole thing.

In short, the Ukraine is screwed thanks mostly to US meddling.
The US was upset that Ukraine was establishing close economic ties to Russia in 2014 so the US backed a coup.
Then there were US sanctions against trade with Russia which pretty much destroyed the heavy industry in Eastern Ukraine especially the aviation industry and engines, gas turbines, etc. Ukraine used to be the location for making such USSR equipment.

Russia finally built their own plants to make such stuff. Ukraine had few other customers. Finally China bought a majority share of a Ukraine gas turbine company. China bought lots of such turbines and made their own using the technology.

Now the US is pressuring the Ukraine to nationalize the company and Ukraine is making noises about attacking eastern Ukraine. China made it clear they do not approve of this.

I linked to 25 min in with a summary kind of.

Might I suggest that you do some research before the sarcasm? All you would have had to have done is search for Dutch research -Russian missile airliner- and you would find the reports.

Here is one of the reports: "Dutch Safety Board: Russian-made missile downed Malaysia ..." https://www.tampabay.com/news/world/dutch-safety-board-russian-made-missile-downed-malaysia-airlines-jetliner/2249491/

There is a whole other side to the Ukraine story. It did not take a crack journalist either, just some guy with a camera and an interpreter. He wandered around Eastern Ukraine and talked to people.

Then there is whole Sea of Azov story. Russia and Ukraine had a bilateral treaty on how to handle transit into the Sea of Azov. Ukrainian vessels, at least military ones(?), had to give one day notice and follow protocol to enter the Sea of Azov. Ukraine decided to just sail in with no warning. It was all theater. For everyone who missed the point: It was about the shape of the holes. 9М38М1 leaves buttefly-shaped holes, which were not found on MH17. That means MH17 was shot down by the older 9М38, which Russia does not have for more than 15 years, but Ukraine still does.

Look at how miserable the Crimean people are under Russian occupation. /sarcasm

Is anyone naive enough to think they would not have kept a few just in case of a Russian invasion?

OK, you are able to think.

Yes. Ukraine may have kept a few nukes. However, even if they didn't I am sure the NeoCons would supply one for a false flag.

>> Long shot, Ukraine blitzes to Moscow.

They would never make it nearly as far as the Germans did, let alone Napoleon.

The Ukies are way too corrupt. After the Tartars came in, and soon became all corruption, all the time in the Kiev*, those who refused to toleratethe malfeasance moved northwards. Since the steppes lack trees, a family typically created a dugout to live in. After winter broke, they would pick up and move northwards as far as they dared before settling in a new location to plant some crops.

Eventually, these people had a new capital (Moskva), leaving Kiev to rule over those who were mostly okay with the rampant corruption murder and mayhem around Kiev.

There's a reason why my Grandmother's maternal grandparents parents left Ukraine to go live in Lithuania.

>> Why is it a long shot? We are told that those Ukrainian divisions are the most battle hardened in the world.

Inept and luckyto survive would be a better description. I've seen f
video made m
by Ukie forces attacking Russian positions. They usually have a period near the end during which the camera is pointing skywards or at the ground. What then follows is the camera being pointed around at Russian troops, as they are clearing the dead and wounded Ukrainian troops from the field. One even featured a Russian soldier finding a cell phone in the pocket of one of the dead Ukrainians, looking through the contact list, calling the contact with the label "Мама", and informing the woman who answered that he was a Russian, and that her son had just been killed during an attack on the Russian's forward position.

Often times, when watching these videos, even as early as congregating at the assembly area before moving out for the attack, my experienced eye picks out a a few rookie mistakes. This tells me that even platoon leaders aren't nearly as well-trained and/or experienced as they should be for such a position. Of not all of your troops have white overgarments during winter ops, they should be at the back of the column, or those at the back should surrender white overgarments to anyone lacking such who is ahead of him, so that those not wearing white are the last to come into view.

So obvious, and so sad to see troops under leaders who are so lacking in what is required in combat.

>> Ukraine is actually Rus, “Russia” is actually Ugro-Finnic and was not called Russia until Peter the Great who stole the history of Rus/Ukraine for their own and could then claim to be “third Rome”

Ukraine was Rus', during the Kievan Rus' era (before Ghengis Khan came in and slaughtered every living thing and torched every structure within 20 miles because Kiev refused to surrender before a fight.

Ukraine is now a polyglot.

Keralia is Finno-Ugaric, not all of Russia.

So if they have a few nukes and that's the plan, then why didn't they use them the last time?

>> All you would have had to have done is search for Dutch research -Russian missile airliner- and you would find the reports.

Are the Dutch part of the E.U., which was all upset about Russia making money by selling gas through a pipeline to Germany which was keeping the Germans from freezing in the dark?

A recent video from The Grayzone went into the Ukraine crisis at the beginning. They are far left but usually factually accurate.
Also, The Duran and Alexander Mercouris have been covering this story. I think that the US is walking back from backing a war in Ukraine right now.

Also, I know the word Nazi is over used but there are kinda neo Nazi private militias integrated with the Ukraine military. I write only because Max Blumenthal uses the word.

@64

They were Norse, which is irritating and confusing to the Pan-Slavic communities.

Also...the Scots are Irish. They migrated to Scotland circa 400 A.D. and displaced the Picts, who it is still not clear if they were also Celtic tribes or not.
