Alone, you will fall

They're not going to let you pass unnoticed and unhindered anymore.

For the last 20 years, I've been hearing from people who read my work and secretly agree with me, but keep silent in public for fear of endangering their jobs, their social position, or their professional contracts. They've operated, successfully for the most part, in a stealth mode where they pretend to go along to get along, and in the past they were generally able to presever whatever it was they were trying to preserve. But it is increasingly obvious that the days of free silence are now over thanks to the fake election of 2020, BLM, the Covid Flu, and the various organizational witchhunts that have followed in their wake:

Former Virginia Tech soccer player Kiersten Hening has filed a federal lawsuit against Hokies coach Charles “Chugger” Adair, claiming the coach benched her and “subjected her to verbal abuse” and ultimately forced her off the women’s soccer team because she refused to kneel before soccer matches.

According to the lawsuit first reported by the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Hening, a junior out of Midlothian, Va., was a “talented defender” who started her freshman and sophomore seasons and played the third-most minutes on the team in 2019. As she began her junior season in 2020, the suit alleges, Hening had the most minutes played on the roster and she was even selected to talk to the media before the season began.

The lawsuit alleges that on September 1, 2020, a student-athlete advisory committee discussed proposals for student-athletes to wear BLM COVID masks, BLM wristbands, armbands and BLM shirts during warmups. The soccer team discussed the proposal and “most” players supported the idea. Hening claims Adair supported the proposals and went even further with an idea to replace “Hokies” on the back of the team uniform with the names of alleged victims of police misconduct....

Hening states in her suit that at a September 12 game against Virginia, Adair made her the subject of a tirade because she wouldn’t take a knee with the rest of the starters before the match. The “campaign of abuse,” as Hening calls it in court documents, continued until she ultimately left the program on September 20.

There are several problems with this strategy, not least of all the psychological stress it imposes upon the individual who adopts it. First, it's not honest and living a lie is always difficult. Second, it requires one to remain alone and without allies in the event of trouble. Third, it prevents others from knowing that they are not alone. Fourth, it renders one useless and hors de combat.

And then, of course, there is the problem that it simply can't be relied upon to work anymore.

You might say, with Theoden, that you will not risk open war. But I reply, with Aragorn, that open war is upon you whether you would risk it or not. Embrace the conflict. Join forces with your allies. Because neither neutrality nor invisibility is an option, and you will either stand with them or you will fall alone.

One of the reasons I will always have great respect for John C. Wright is that he did not hesitate to stand with Castalia House when we first raised the anti-SJW banner in science fiction. It is the first ally that is so very important, because it is that first ally who opens one's eyes to the realization that one is not alone, that there are others who will not bend the knee to the wickedness, and that there is someone who will guard your back.

Aye bit what are most of the go along to get along crowd doing in the meantime?
Are they amassing "F you" money? Are they paying off their house? Are they paying off debt? Are they working towards anti-fragility?
Chances are, none of the above.
I know people who were for the most part like "daywalkers" who worked at ground zero area of SJW woke BS, but earned money like fiends, but had an exit strategy. I knew of a few who pretended to be on the LGBT spectrum. The "standards" are so low anybody can do that. They did this so they could buy land and have money left over. In the 1990s I knew a lot of country folk putting up with working in Manhattan for 4 to 5 years, in finance mainly, then GTFO back to Nebraska or Iowa or wherever with enough money to retire early if they wanted.
So yeah, anybody who pretends but is buying new cars and McMansions in the suburbs is basically just being a boomer about it.

I don't care if I stand alone, but stand I do.
Fortunately my career does not entail much interaction with sjw types. But over the course of 43 odd years I have taken honorable stands that have cost me jobs, positions and/or money. I am also proud of each and every one of them.

Between Faith and just not caring what people say or think, life is stress free.

It's going to be our women who finally make the strongest and loudest stand for a return to rationality. They won't put it that way. A lot of the dumbest choices affect them the harshest and we will all learn again why things were the way they were. For example, legalize sex work = more stillborn from syphilis. Check out the stats it's happening now and getting closer to 'normal' people.

Blogger Unknown April 22, 2021 8:12 AM

I think the main reason people don't speak out is because they can't handle the financial consequences of being canceled. How are they going to provide for their family after they've been fired for not supporting BLM?

Blogger DannyDanger April 22, 2021 8:13 AM

"...when we first raised the anti-SJW banner..."

I think it is safe to say there are a lot of people out there waiting for someone else to raise the banner.

It takes a rare type to raise it themselves. *salutes Vox

Blogger Cappuccinobear April 22, 2021 8:18 AM

The bearconomy and all of Vox's projects are a great start. We need more people doing things like that, and more people supporting them whenever possible. Hopefully enough of us will be able to self sustain and fill needs for our true western Christian culture, that we can extract ourselves from the beast system.

Blogger Harambe April 22, 2021 8:18 AM

The big difference between us and the enemy is that if one of theirs does something stupid, they'll swarm around them and protect them. When one of ours does something stupid, we stand at a safe distance and go "yeah well he was stupid for doing that" and then go write about how we're not "like those racists over there". So in the end, we WILL all stand alone if we decide to make a stand.

This is why forums like Social Galactic and Beartaria Times are so important. Big Bear in particular deserves a ton of respect for encouraging individuals to team up and form communities. Bears are gathering in real life all over the world, helping each other grow, and to pursue the good, the beautiful and the True.

It really is inspiring.

I'm balls deep in a converged corporate environment. I know I need to get out, but its not just my company, it's the whole industry at this point.

With 3 kids to support its a daunting prospect.

Blogger Dude463 April 22, 2021 8:38 AM

This article resonates with me. As a german teacher I'm constantly surrounded by sustainability, gender equality (i.e. going from 70 to 90 % women) and so forth. Even classroom material is weird sometimes: "Fathers do parental leave", "What the EU does for me.", "How to manage kids & career". And those examples are from a supposedly conservative institution.

Still love the teaching part and try to balance things out in the classroom, but behind the scenes it can a tightrope. Good news is: At least in South Korea, where I work now, allies are around.

It's not just in employment. From social media, to medical, to service providers, they are infested. Sometimes the companies support them, sometimes not. Watch it out there. Oh, and like muslims, lying is part of the program if they think they are outnumbered, outgunned, etc... right until they aren't. They'll stab you in the back in a second, and you'll never know who it was.

Are you a visitor from a distant world or has mass media melted your brain? The ranks of the SJWs are heavily female.

A lot of the dumbest choices affect them the harshest

1. They're the ones making many of the dumbest choices and celebrating them.

2. The effects are irrelevant, as long as they can still convince themselves the "choices" they're making will keep them safely in the herd.

What is the point of silent agreement? Pardon the metaphor but it's like masturbation, you only please yourself. Speaking out comes with it's costs and rewards but nothing warms the heart and soul quite as much as when someone slides in beside you to stand against the current and bandwagon not giving an inch. They are like 10 pound diamonds.

As VD says, you need an exit plan. But also, it's somewhat of a tragedy of the commons. Because if everyone openly stood up to the sjw narrative they couldn't fire everyone without suffering economically themselves.
Maybe they would, and either the whole system of society would crash and burn which it was gonna do anyway, or the right wingers would spontaneously make their own economy, extricating themselves from the sjw one.

Small company, business owner, partnership. Built it for decades together. I’m surrounded here on the southeast coast of Connecticut by absurd behavior. Been tolerating liberals (this was easier before the covid age) for too long. It’s the submergence in absurdity that’s getting me.
Formulating two plans. They’re both foggy, but I’m working on them seriously. One is if the absurdity pendulum swings back to no masks, or at least becomes the majority, I’ll stay longer. The other is sell it all and move to be with normal people. It’s mostly a matter of time and tolerance and where those two curves cross.

Blogger carnaby April 22, 2021 10:42 AM

I found something to put in my Skype tagline at work something that people on my side would notice but that couldn't get me in trouble because it was innocuous enough.

"Pretending to be indoctrinated enough to stay out of the re-education camps". This is a common meme and people on my side instantly recognized it for what it was. Several men reached out to me afterward and now I know who my allies are. Besides the obvious ones who don't hide anything.

Blogger Barbarossa April 22, 2021 11:22 AM

Without details, I have been involved with efforts to rally folks around a standard for the past year. To say it has been an exercise in frustration and near-futility would be an understatement.

From without, I get comments and questions like:
- "I'm glad somebody's doing something."
- "Isn't that a job for the police?"
- "Aren't you afraid of ?"
- "I'd love to get involved, but I'm ."

From within, it's almost worse. Not surprisingly, lots of different agendas but we have the folks who:
- Think the primary purpose of the U.S. is to defend Taiwan against China
- Think the primary purpose of the U.S. is to invade Russia (This is a huge problem; lots of folks nominally on our side who resent DC but do not wish to relinquish the trappings of empire, especially having a huge military)
- Think they can drain the Swamp and keep their gubmint checks
- Think the Constitution is some golden amulet that has been secreted away and all that is required to restore order is for some enterprising soul to retrieve it (where's Nicholas Cage when you need him?)
- Think that military and political problems are separate and unconnected notions (you can always spot the vast multitudes who have never read Thucydides; or rather you can always spot the rare individual who has)

I could go on, but sites like this are important because they are the proving ground for political ideas. Because ntil we can come up with a unified political platform that average folks can identify with and rally around, we will be fighting this in isolation at worse or small groups at best.

Blogger Frozen Territory April 22, 2021 11:28 AM

I am grateful for the mention, but, to be honest, the choice was between Vox Day who, no matter what his other shortcomings, is an honest man and treats professional work professionally, and John Scalzi, who, no matter what his other virtues, is not and who does not.

Vox Day is a man, and John Scalzi is a manlike lump.

To this day, I cannot forget my disgust and disappointment that the SFWA organization, which for so long I so longed to join, had been so quickly corrupted into a cult of far left busybodies and gossips, not a professional organization for science fiction writers.

Logic allowed me little other choice but to resign the guild as publicly as possible.

I was fortunate enough to not be as open to fiscal blackmail or professional ostracization as many a man -- thanks mostly to the intercession of Vox Day as my editor and publisher for several years.

The ranks of the SJWs are heavy, unfuckable females. Married mothers on the other hand are force to be reckoned with -- especially when their children are threatened. I believe it was mothers who fought back fiercely against attempts to ban home-schooling in the US, and won decisively. Also notice the high numbers of women fighting mandatory vaccines especially for children.

I've recently received indications that the Woker members of my family are re-considering:
- One child is selling the city house for one in a more remote place (not off-grid and hours away, just safely distant from the city).
- Another is working to exit a toxic work environment. That it is also more distant from a city is a plus (I hope for a time when she, too, leaves the city environment).
- A granddaughter has started working, and is learning about budgeting and planning. Even before COVID, she had transitioned to online education, due to a horrible bullying situation at her school.
- And, last, my Catholic sister daughter is now planning to transfer to a more traditional community in her congregation (Franciscans). She will, after years of vocal antipathy, be wearing a habit. There is hope for her.
