Asymetrical, tough, and swift

Vladimir Putin issues a warning in the aftermath of Ukraine and the neoclowns that are pulling their puppet state's strings backing down in response to Russia's mobilization on its borders:

The meaning and purpose of Russia’s policy in the international arena – I will just say a few words about this to conclude my address – is to ensure peace and security for the well-being of our citizens, for the stable development of our country. Russia certainly has its own interests we defend and will continue to defend within the framework of international law, as all other states do. And if someone refuses to understand this obvious thing or does not want to conduct a dialogue and chooses a selfish and arrogant tone with us, Russia will always find a way to defend its stance.

At the same time, unfortunately, everyone in the world seems to be used to the practice of politically motivated, illegal economic sanctions and to certain actors’ brutal attempts to impose their will on others by force. But today, this practice is degenerating into something even more dangerous – I am referring to the recently exposed direct interference in Belarus in an attempt to orchestrate a coup d’état and assassinate the President of that country. At the same time, it is typical that even such flagrant actions have not been condemned by the so-called collective West. Nobody seemed to notice. Everyone pretends nothing is happening.

But listen, you can think whatever you like of, say, Ukrainian President Yanukovych or Maduro in Venezuela. I repeat, you can like or dislike them, including Yanukovych who almost got killed, too, and removed from power via an armed coup. You can have your own opinion of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko’s policy. But the practice of staging coups d’état and planning political assassinations, including those of high-ranking officials – well, this goes too far. This is beyond any limits.

Suffice it to mention the admission made by the detained participants in the conspiracy about a planned siege of Minsk, including plans to block the city infrastructure and communications, and a complete shutdown of the entire power system in the capital of Belarus! This actually means they were preparing a massive cyberattack. What else could it be? You know, you cannot just do it all with one switch.

Clearly, there is a reason why our Western colleagues have been stubbornly rejecting Russia’s numerous proposals to establish an international dialogue on information and cyber security. We have come up with these proposals many times. They avoid even discussing this matter.

What if there had been a real attempt at a coup d’état in Belarus? After all, this was the ultimate goal. How many people would have been hurt? What would have become of Belarus? Nobody is thinking about this.

Just as no one was thinking about the future of Ukraine during the coup in that country.

All the while, unfriendly moves towards Russia have also continued unabated. Some countries have taken up an unseemly routine where they pick on Russia for any reason, most often, for no reason at all. It is some kind of new sport of who shouts the loudest.

In this regard, we behave in an extremely restrained manner, I would even say, modestly, and I am saying this without irony. Often, we prefer not to respond at all, not just to unfriendly moves, but even to outright rudeness. We want to maintain good relations with everyone who participates in the international dialogue. But we see what is happening in real life. As I said, every now and then they are picking on Russia, for no reason. And of course, all sorts of petty Tabaquis are running around them like Tabaqui ran around Shere Khan – everything is like in Kipling’s book – howling along in order to make their sovereign happy. Kipling was a great writer.

We really want to maintain good relations with all those engaged in international communication, including, by the way, those with whom we have not been getting along lately, to put it mildly. We really do not want to burn bridges. But if someone mistakes our good intentions for indifference or weakness and intends to burn or even blow up these bridges, they must know that Russia’s response will be asymmetrical, swift and tough.

Those behind provocations that threaten the core interests of our security will regret what they have done in a way they have not regretted anything for a long time.

The neoclowns will posture and prattle about the Russian leader's idle threats even as they continue to bang their usual drums for ever more war in Syria, Iran, Ukraine, and the South China Sea. But it is increasingly obvious that it is the US empire, not the Russian republic, that is now writing checks its military cannot cash.

I have to admit, I quite enjoyed the Kipling aside. Kipling was a great writer. I wonder what he would have made of being cited by a Russian leader standing against imperialism.

Maybe write about an old hunter looking in the mirror and seeing Thuu.

Thuu (थू Thū; Indian cobra), also called White Hood, a blind albino cobra. Mowgli gives him the derisory epithet "Thuu" (meaning "it has dried") upon discovering that the supposedly deadly cobra's fangs are in fact withered and dried up from age and disuse.

Kipling did not write that many novels or novellas, so you'd be getting a "Collected Writings" most likely. That said, every American boy should read "Captain Courageous" by age 10, an excellent coming of age story transforming a contemptible spoiled brat into a fine young man. I suppose most of those little fishing boats like We're Here were crucibles that formed men by trial of fire or destroyed them in the attempt. Either way, if you read a lot you can probably read it in 1-2 days, great story!

Notice the mention of turning off the power to a city.

A recent interview with Margarit Simonyan head of RT (Russia Today) elaborated more on this aspect. She said there will definitely be war, but it wont primarily be kinetic. The West will turn off the power to Voronezh (and obviously, Russian retaliation will turn off a city or cities in the West). It's coming.

Regarding Putin's comments, one is reminded again of that old adage, dont poke the bear, or, as Bernard Law Montgomery, Viscount Montgomery of Alamein said, first law of warfare: don't march on Moscow.

Someone is sadly refusing to heed the lessons of history and a lot of people will pay the price.

What was it that Cornwallis had played at Yorktown when he surrendered? "World Turned Upside Down" if I recall. As someone pledged to protect the Republic, it is getting more difficult to relate the Empire to what I gave my pledge back in 1985. Looking back I used to dismiss the association of "Empire" to the USA by people from other countries up to the turn of the century. Mia culpa.

If Kipling came back to life, he would immediately die again of a stroke or heart attack after seeing the state of the West, generally, and of Great Britain more particularly.

To #4. When I wanted to delve heavily into his work ten or so years ago (then only being familiar with some of his children's stories from growing up), I started with Penguin's Portable Kipling Reader. Penguin's Portable Author Library series is very much hit-or-miss, but the Kipling Reader was very much a hit. I couldn't put it down until I finished it and my copy is worn near the point of disintegration. If there's a single story (really a novella) I would recommend, it's "The Man Who Would Be King" (included in that volume), masterfully adapted to the screen in the mid-70s by John Huston in a film co-starring Sean Connery and Michael Caine as the retired Queen's Own turned soldiers of fortune who learn the hard way that while conquest may be easy, ruling is very much harder. The late great Christopher Plummer also stars as the stand-in for Kipling to whom the story is narrated.

I love that Putin is trotting out Kipling, a great Western writer whom most of the elite in the West seem inclined to ignore, except in Disneyfied form. Much of international affairs and politics would probably be better if more people read Kipling. Putin almost seems like he’s sticking his thumb in the eye of many Western leaders: “Look, you’ve got this great writer Kipling, and I bet you haven’t even read him. Right now, your aide is probably googling ‘Tabaqui’ and ‘Shere Khan’ for you.”

I would only modify your remarks from "the" evil empire to "an" evil empire. There are many bases of imperialistic malignancy in this world, the difference in practice seems to be nothing more than access to aerial bomb delivery vehicles and a thirst to use them.

NORKs are evil, CHICOMS are evil, WEF-crowd (predominantly European) are evil, Saudi Royals are evil, Erdogan/Turks are evil, British Royal family, Bill Gates, the Board of Directors of Coca Cola, on and on and on. Heck even Canada and Australia are looking pretty evil these days. But the ability and willingness to drop aerial bombs with impunity does seem reserved to just a few, among whom the US is chief. Only know that there are many that WOULD if they COULD.

Putin, like many political leaders, is hardly a saint, but unlike most Western heads of state, he defends the interests of the country he leads aggressively.

Most Western nations will at some point get their Putin who will oppose the clown world sellout of their nation, and will be popular as a result. The thing about the move from democracy to dictatorship is that the dictator is often more popular than the corrupt system he overthrows.

The problem is that Putin is the boy crying wolf. He has consistently over the years threatened to nuke Europe, invade the Baltic and Ukraine, intimidated Belarus, used Gasprom as a weapon, etc., etc.

I personally think that unless Putin has gone full wacko he is playing his usual game of threatening everyone and sundry to try and get them to give him victories without blood and sweat.

His "victory" in Ukraine in 2014 chewed up several Spec. forces units and did not at all accomplish his goals of Novy Rossiya. And the Russian people are not backing Putin as they did in 2014 after years of failing economy, continuing actions against the great Russians, and struggles against the regions.

If Putin is so foolish as to go to war he will lose as the Russian army is not at all modern except for a few units (partly/greatly due to sanctions as they cannot get the electronics for the weaponry they need), the multi-empire will not support it, and China will pick up the pieces in Eastern and Central
Siberia.

Talk is cheaper than war. Putin's words and tone strike me as someone who is talking tough, but who is actually bluffing. We heard similar talk from Saddam prior to his hiding in a hole. The US has already did plenty that would warrant at least a slap in the face, if the Russians were really in such a position of strength. The fact they have not I cannot chalk up to their simply wanting to get along with everyone, but instead that they know such actions would cost them more in the long run.

I suppose the Russians have their red line somewhere, but that line would appear to have been reached.

I'm convinced they're deliberately opening themselves to attack on this front for that purpose.
Much like the new solar/electric pipeline-pumps were integral in the frozen Texas pipeline; as opposed to the older pumps that sucked their fuel from the pipeline itself.

I would take the views of ADV China and China uncensored with a grain of salt.

ADV is a typical liberal disgruntled Youtuber who owes his successful Youtube career to his videos on Chinese culture and locations but the moment he experiences business setbacks in China he gammas out and starts dedicating his channel to attacking China.

China Uncensored is your typical Californian subversive. He states he modeled his show after the daily show. It's wholly dedicated to criticizing China and pushing neoliberal politics.

Both at times push stories based on flimsy to no evidence with a distinct bias towards criticizing China because they cater to that viewership demographic.

There are consequences to criticizing China because the Chinese elites know how the (((game))) is played and have insinuated their influence and money among the western institutions in order to deter their subversive actions. Russia while stronger militarily have zero influence which is why it's an easier target.

Notice how (((they))) only backed off when Russia started amassing 80k troops at the border.

Are you you saying that these sources are not factually accurate or you suspect such? Any reporting in particular?

I don't accept anything I read or hear as true as a matter of faith. That includes VD, although most of his posts are analysis and ideas, not factual findings. I have not found him to be dishonest or inaccurate so far. I am sure you can find 'fact checkers' that smear him.

Recently a liberal relative refused to read of watch The Duran. A fact checking site informed her that they were extreme right, spouted Russian propaganda, spread conspiracy theories, did not cite sources, and reported pure fiction. One story that butt hurt them was that Hillary Clinton had supplied weapons to the opposition in Syria that ended up in the hands of ISIS. "Pure fiction" they concluded.

The question I have is whether something is true and whether they have history of being honest. You can always attack their motivations. The ADV china guys seem very credible. The reason they gave for leaving China was the increasing hostility toward foreigners. Much different than 10 years ago. They withheld political and negative reporting until they left China. Yes their current post titles are click bait.
BTW, my opinion of China remains much higher thanks to ADV over the MSM.

They seem like anthropologists. They describe what they see and hear. Too many anecdotes to remember.
Chinese fear Chinese vaccines because in recent history such vaccines were either contaminated and harmful or saline. Also baby formula was contaminated so they prefer foreign.

Chinese put up high quality skyscrapers in record time. They also build them only to collapse a year later. These guys scraped away part of a new building to reveal paper machete instead of concrete.

One revealed how much in bribes he had to pay to teach and how he was not allowed to fail any student. One revealed how his Chinese father in law visited the US and had not washed his hands with soap and water. He did not believe in it.
They describe how the united front/10 cent army/whatever went after them personally after they left, even contacted former neighbors in SA and tried to get his wife fired. They describe how the Confucius institutes were used in the US.

China uncensored mostly reports on news reported elsewhere and allowed to die. They are critical of China but someone should be.

There is another side to so many parts of history. The US could have stayed out of WWII. FDR wanted war so he made impossible demands of the Japanese to please his British and Dutch friends who wanted their colonies back. Meanwhile the US was bankrupting Japan through extreme sanctions and embargoes. The books Bankrupting the Enemy and 1941 describe the decision making. A recent (2011) book by Hoover describes his anti war position and how ridiculous the ideas of German or Japanese invasions of the US were.

Solon. You don't understand, as the Evil Empire has branches. Washington DC is the military branch, but the financial branches of the Evil Empire started in Europe, and specifically the Bank of London after 1815. so the Evil Empire is far more than the USA and it's beginnings were the Banksters and other financial people over a hundred years before the USA was brought and bought under total control.
The head puppeteers have long been in Europe and the middle east. All these Commies/globalists and even the Trotskyites in the USA are middle managers at best. Control of banks and money eventually lead to control of everything.

The Evil people number one desire is the trafficking of Humans with a strong emphasis on children. Globohomos are pervs, first and foremost. They desire to 'get away' with the most evil crap they can. Then they desire to rub it into normal and innocent people's faces.
The nice homo next store married to another nice homo who both are faithful to each other, is the most absurd myth possible. The typical Gay 'gets off' as often as possible, with as many sources as possible, and try to recruit young people and even small kids into their sex habits. They are the biggest users of porn, which is often about underage kids having sex with similar pervs to them. Sometimes it's far worse. This isn't BS "Conspiracy Theory," It's absolute truth, and many have figured it out long ago.
The Muslims brought into countries is to rape young white girls then put them out for cheap prostitution for all the Pedos to enjoy as was done by Pakis in the UK, and backed up by cops and social worker system there.
This whole Globohomo system is number one about using and abusing all other people sexually and to use them for other nasty things, but especially children.

The warmongering results solely from the Military and Congressional complex. The complex results solely from central bank financing of war and war buildup expenditure. The central bank financing results solely from the existence of the central bank. The Congress and the Executive created the central bank. The war and war build up expenditure redounds disproportionately to California via salaries, bases, and "research sluices" and New York via bond and contractor stock "markets" and related fees. 32Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, while your eyes grow weary looking for them day after day, with no power in your hand. 33A people you do not know will eat the produce of your land and of all your toil. All your days you will be oppressed and crushed. 34You will be driven mad by the sights you see.

35The LORD will afflict you with painful, incurable boils on your knees and thighs, from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.

36The LORD will bring you and the king you appoint to a nation neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you will worship other gods—gods of wood and stone. 37You will become an object of horror, scorn, and ridicule among all the nations to which the LORD will drive you.

38You will sow much seed in the field but harvest little, because the locusts will consume it. 39You will plant and cultivate vineyards, but will neither drink the wine nor gather the grapes, because worms will eat them. 40You will have olive trees throughout your territory but will never anoint yourself with oil, because the olives will drop off. 41You will father sons and daughters, but they will not remain yours, because they will go into captivity. 42Swarms of locusts will consume all your trees and the produce of your land.

MAGA changed my mind on Putin and Russia, even though I am still skeptical. It appears Putin is more concerned with Russian minorities in places like Ukraine, and to keep some buffers between Russia and the EU, through Belarus and Ukraine, given Finland and the Baltics are right on the border.
My problem is nationalists in places like Poland and Hungary are still aware of the Soviet history, and it always appears to be a binary position - either EU vassal of Russo vassal like Belarus. So they took the 3rd position of the Visegrad group.

One, Putin isn't a brutal dictator -- he's a common sense guy, a Christian, protecting his country from globohomos.

You do realize that Putin is a fellow Promethian, do you not?
"In the first addition of Putins book: First Person: An Astonishingly Frank Self-Portrait by Russia’s President it says his mothers maiden name was Shalomovitch – which apparently is a Jewish surname. Yet in the second addition, it conveniently changes to Shelomova. A cover up??" [Note: Shelomova is the correct female patronymic]

"Putin’s maternal grandfather was a Jew involved in the bolshevik revolution, his paternal grandfather worked all his life as the chef of Lenin and Stalin.
His paternal grandfather, Spiridon Ivanovich Putin (1879–1965), was employed at Vladimir Lenin‘s dacha at Gorki as a cook, and after Lenin’s death in 1924, he continued to work for Lenin’s wife, Nadezhda Krupskaya. He would later cook for Joseph Stalinwhen the Soviet leader visited one of his dachas in the Moscow region. Spiridon later was employed at a dacha belonging to the Moscow City Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, at which the young Putin would visit him.

His other grandfather was a jew from a Ukranian village and a bolshevik activist. Putin was put into power by the Federation Of Jewish Organizations In Russia. The Jewish Chairman of this organization Abramovich stated in a 2005 interview that Putin could obtain Israeli citizenship if he wanted as an ethnic Jew. And that his mother was a Jew Shelomova. This makes Putin full Jewish by Jewish law."
Etc.

So the question is if he is but another fake Christian. One would hope not, but...
