Arktoons: 4 Sunday titles

Bounding Into Comics has the exclusive story:

Arkhaven Comics publisher and Lead Editor Vox Day announced four more series for the newly released digital comic platform, Arktoons.

Arktoons is a free-to-view digital comics platform that releases new episodes of comics every single day of the week. The platform is stylistically similar to Webtoons, where comics are read in a top down format.

It was launched this past Wednesday, and is already seeing success. Vox Day tells Bounding Into Comics, “We’re seeing some incredible engagement statistics on the site.”

He added, “Average session durations have climbed steadily from an average 5 minutes 48 seconds on launch day to 6 minutes 32 seconds. This shows that people are not only reading the new comics at Arktoons, but enjoying them.”

The four new series released on Sunday include Chicago Typewriter, AI Wars, Bovodar & The Bears, and Swan Knight Saga. They bring the total number of series on the platform up to 22.

In other comics-related news, Marvel continues to celebrate its converged death spiral, as the Devil Mouse's main movie guy explains that it is a priority for Marvel to racewash and genderswap familiar characters.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently addressed why the upcoming Eternals movie decided to race and gender swap most of the characters from their origins in the comics.

A majority of The Eternals characters have been race and gender swapped. The only characters that look similar to their comic book iterations are Ikaris, Thena, and Phastos.

They changed Makkari to a black, female, deaf character. Kingo now appears Indian instead of appearing to be Japanese. Ajak is Hispanic, Lebanese, and female. Gilgamesh is now Asian, and Sprite is now female and a young girl....

If it wasn’t clear that this film might be the wokest of all of Marvel’s films so far, Feige pretty much confirmed it. He made it very clear they set out to race and gender swap the majority of the cast before they had even began searching for a director!

Not only that, but it shows where Marvel Studios and Feige’s priorities are. He clearly states the reason for the film being moved to the top of their list of films to make is purely because they could swap the characters’ races, genders, and sexualities.

No wonder they're unhappy with the Arktoons initiative. Because they know what is likely to happen if they are wrong... and a growing mountain of evidence suggests they're wrong.

Should woke SJWs be angrier at their TERF-centric focus on binary gender in their genderswapping, the erasure of Asians, or the casual racism of D&E race- and gender-swapping of J- or K- list superheroes whom people only care about — if they do at all —because they’re about the 432nd most interesting creation of Jack Kirby?

no one read the eternals in the first place. i seriously doubt the 5 sjw readers of an already sjw comic will mind too much.

Chicago Typewriter would be a really good name for a band

Arkhaven is how it is done. Good quality product. Great rollout.

Keep up the great work! I subscribed and hope everyone does!

They're going to rely on star power to cover for horrible writing and an uninteresting story with no relatable-to-humans characters and no viable stakes.

I don't think Angelina Jolie will be able to save it.

How do I pronounce "Feige" or does it sound exactly how I imagine it would?

Today was a great day for Arktoons. The writers are doing a great job. I was very pleasantly surprised by Bovodar and the bears. Didn't think it wouls be bad, but didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.

I gotta say I love the Chuck Dixon retro series, those were the days when I was into comics. I would love to see some new stuff done in that style. Looks like I'm into comics again!

Love and Rockets was a comic book first, and then a band.

I await what the so-called "Fandom menace" and "comicsgate" will do here? Will they support and amplify this project since they claim to want more independent creators or will they follow the usual oh-I-can´t-be-connected-to-any-Christian-or-rightwing-project spiel?

The Eternals was a boring series. Only slightly less boring than Kirby's attempt to turn 2001 A Space Odyssey into a comic.

I really dig the flying car.

So far, I consider my Arkhaven subscription as very well spent money.

Was the string in Chicago Typewriter supposed to line up between panels? Currently, there are two offsets
1. after the line "As the soil enveloped me, I embraced its cool touch of death..."
2. After the line "Then it happened."
I was a little disappointed, because a continuous strand would have been brilliant.

The following text box was repeated: "I was no longer just fighting the criminal underworld. I was taking on the underword itself."

Not to complain (much), but could we get *all* the series displayed in the Genres section, or some other single listing?

Right now there are 19 titles listed under Genres, not the 22 (?) that have been released so far. Alt-Hero, Deus Vult, and Flying Sparks are the missing titles, and there's no obvious way to get to them (or know they exist) if today isn't "their day". AH at least shows up in the Popular section.

Comics were never my thing, but the vampire thing and the Hammer of Freedom look really good and I found them really captivating (still haven't taken a look at the rest). Can't wait for more episodes! Congrats on the amazing project!

I, too, am enjoying the Chuck Dixon retro things, and "Go Monster Go" which is closest to the few comic books I bought in my youth, but "The Hammer" is my favorite so far, and I'm looking forward to the movie. When you get to that stage you'll really inflict pain on Marvel and the Hellmouth.

My one sort of complaint, and the thing that has so far kept me from subscribing, is the scantiness of the costumes of some of the heroines. If I had the time, maybe I'd try to invent an "Amish Woman" character or St. Hildegard. But it's 2021, not 1121. Anyway kudos to VD on your "Hell no" to the suggestion of more risque things the other day.

Arktoons are Good Stories, and their results will be amazing. Bovodar & The Bears was unexpectedly good, as someone said.

If Falcon America and the Winter Soldier was any indication, Marvel is in BIG trouble.

Beyond terrible.

You'll be delighted with the direction Marvel and DC are going then. Their SJWs are similarly concerned with insufficient female clothing and excessive female attractiveness.

Arkhaven will continue to uphold the classic approach to female superheroes.

Click on the genre title. You'll see all of the series in that genre. What you suggest will not work because there will soon be far too many series to display them all.

AI Wars looks interesting. If the writing maintains this level of quality as the various comics series take off, I could imagine YA reading level novelizations for the comics not originally based on books becoming quite popular.

What Marvel has done with Eternals in comic form is mind numbing.
The fact they are moving this to movie form confirms that they want to sink the company. Possibly this will be the start of the end as they will keep doubling down on each additional movie.

Given where our culture is in 2021, you aren't pushing boundaries in the wrong direction, but rather in the right direction. And I was fine with, for example, Meta-Girl in "Flying Sparks". There were a couple of others I thought I'd be better off not looking at. Female attractiveness is a good thing, and keep up the great work!

Kingo now appears Indian instead of appearing to be Japanese.

The other characters were changed from white. Are the Japs no longer diverse enough?
