ARKTOONS: four more Monday titles

Bounding Into Comics has the story:

YouTube personality RazörFist endorsed the newly launched digital comics platform Arktoons as the site added four new series on Monday, May 3rd.

Arktoons is a free-to-view digital comics platform that allows readers to view comics in a top down format similar to Webtoons. It can be found at Arkhaven.com.

The site, while free-to-view, does have a subscription offering with plans ranging from $5 to $50. It does not feature ads and according to the site’s Lead Editor Vox Day it has no plans to ever feature ads.

As for RazörFist’s endorsement, the YouTuber tweeted, “I just clicked on one of the Arkstoons comics, and it opened with a Rand quote about socialism, followed by a complete worldwide death toll of every Communist dictator.”

He added, “I do believe I found the right publisher. Arkhaven.com.”

The comic in question is from Brazilian publisher Super Prumo’s The Hammer of Freedom.

While The Hammer of Freedom might be Arktoons’ most read series, the platform rolled out four new challengers today including Cosmic Warrior, Big Bear’s Big Comic, Gun Ghoul, and Chuck Dixon Presents: War.

It's very encouraging to see people beginning to sit up and take notice of the fact that Arktoons not only exists, but features content that is manifestly different that what the rest of the comics industry has on offer. And there is now the equivalent of an entire omnibus - about six issues - worth of content on the site already, with new episodes coming literally every day.

On a technical note, the dev team has fixed the "missing panel" problem that affected four of the 26 series.

My favourite thing so far on Arktoons is easily the panel after the end of Gun Ghouls.

Read the comics all the way to the very end, kids.

I am loving the site so far. Midnight's War and Hypergamouse were my main motivations for reading but I look forward to reading all of them. There is so much content! I have always loved comic book artwork and Arkhaven is a feast for the eyes. I am happy to subscribe to encourage more work like this, the world needs it.

Our SDL's appearance in Big Bear comic was amusing to say the least.

Even the stuff I didn't think I would be interested in, was still great and could not stop reading.
The last film I saw based on a comic was Batman in the late 80s with Jack Nickolsen as The Joker. I have avoided all these decades of rehash and Soyboy Theater like the plague. Now I'm looking at these comics on Arktoons and thinking if a film version was made that would be good.
If this medium is to have a redemption arc after being weaponized against civilization all these years, it starts at Arktoons.

This is fantastic. Such variety of tone, genre, and style without any evidently lower quality offerings.

I was rolling on the floor when the SDL appeared in Big Bear, Hilarious. I am really enjoying all of the comics, really Great Job. That's why I'm a Silver Subscriber. Keep it coming.

Not gonna lie, I completely lost it when VD appeared out of nowhere with giant muscled arms and wee stubby little legs.

Really honestly LOL'd at that one.

And I thought that the Big Bear comic would be pointless.

Well struck, men.

At https://arkhavencomics.com/ I have opportunity to buy content. But where is what I am already paying for?
My account shows I have a bronze sub. I subscribed in the expectation that I would have access to some content? If I was mistaken then I suggest "subscribe" is poorly worded.
I may not speak the same webpage dialect, so "go here, click this, then that0, then that1" instructions would help.

any chance we could get Nick Cole's GALAXYS EDGE series on Arktoons?

Blogger Doktor Jeep May 03, 2021 6:37 PM

While reading this treatise on DarkLording, I developed a hope of reading a review of it (by you). You might even find it amusing. Spoiler: John Milton does it better...

Vox looks hysterical in the big bear comic, if you pay attention to how his legs are drawn it gets funnier the more you look.

Blogger Tomato bear May 04, 2021 12:42 AM

To see VD in a comic,

That gaint arm and chair part, worth that 5 dollar.

So funny.

Haha

Blogger Harambe May 04, 2021 3:50 AM

Super excited to read the adventures of Big Bear an the Dark Lord!

Blogger Steve Samson May 04, 2021 8:50 AM

Apologies if this has been answered before, are the Chuck Dixon works appearing here from the Chuck Dixon thing I am supporting on patreon? Or is that a separate project?

Blogger VD May 04, 2021 9:01 AM

Yes. It is a subset.

Blogger Steve Samson May 04, 2021 6:49 PM

Thanks! Good to know I've played a part, however small.
