Stasi in the USA

AC has written volumes about the Promethean Panopticon he calls the Surveillance Society. This clandestine army controlled by the Pentagon would appear to be the branch of it that is embedded into the US military:

The US military operates a vast network of soldiers, civilians, and contractors that it uses for clandestine missions both at home and abroad, Newsweek has claimed, adding that the force also manipulates social media.

After a two-year investigation, the outlet reported that the undercover army consists of around 60,000 people, many of whom use fake identities to carry out their assignments. The Pentagon’s agents operate in real life and online, with some even embedded in private businesses and well-known companies.

The massive program, unofficially known as “signature reduction,” is reportedly 10 times the size of the CIA’s clandestine service, making it the “largest undercover force the world has ever known,” Newsweek claimed. But the true scale and scope of the shadow army remains a closely guarded secret. No one knows the program’s total size, and Congress has never held a hearing on the military’s increasing reliance on signature reduction. There appears to be very little or no transparency regarding the massive clandestine military force, even as its continued development “challenges US laws, the Geneva Conventions, the code of military conduct, and basic accountability,” the outlet said.

I expect this is somehow related to the "military-industrial complex" of which President Eisenhower warned Americans at the end of his term. It's not the sort of thing that just springs up overnight, after all. I find this report to be particularly interesting in light of the way the current Alt-Hero episodes posit a much smaller and superhuman, but equally clandestine force operating inside the US military.

I'd suppose that they want their own people to know about this and they can safely print it Newsweek because the masses won't read it or even understand the significance of what they are reading if they do.

It is interesting what is getting (((exposed))). Probably the tip of the iceberg.

Nate, still calling out AC as a nutcase?

The idea of a Counter-Stasi of Christian nationalists/monarchists, one that can infiltrate into all enemy network through various means to be one step ahead of them, has its appeal to me. Keep friends close and enemies closer, right?

"the force also manipulates social media"
And how.
I'm talking about right wing sites, but I just now wondered if it's possible to set up an online sandbox sort of thing, where a guy -thinks- he's seeing content at X, but it's filtered so that he only sees select accounts at X.
More could be said, but I want them to guess at how much I do or don't know. I've wondered if the surveillance staff ever gets converged, has to be rotated, and if we could help the process along.
Hey nameless, ever take a good look at your supervisors' lives? Is that where you want to end up? Do you stand -for- anything; or just against things? When you're off work, is your time a continuous pursuit of entertainment? Can you stand to be in a quite place with no music playing? You're not accomplishing anything worthwhile, only destroying things. Enjoy your promotions, they're meaningless in the real world.

They lost Air Superiority and Command of The Sea to UAPs. Instead of the commanders admitting defeat like any sane leader would do they go and double down like a full blown Gamma.

We The People's tax dollars are now being used to hunt down We The People. Nice to know Our Heroes got their priorities straight.

Military intelligence is always running the country from the back seat. All the suicides etc. It's them. Biden, Cliton etc. are just pawns they are allowed to rule.

Blogger McChuck May 21, 2021 6:41 AM

Wow. The newsweasels have discovered that there is a large, dedicated staff of people here in America whose jobs are to create backstories for undercover agents working in foreign countries. Amazing. It's only been depicted in movies for decades.

And of course the newsweasels get the story completely wrong.

The only thing that surprised me about this was the number reported involved - its.way, way too low.

And they are just exactly like the sea I. I know because my sister is tied into it, as a librarian in a public library for the city she lives in. By law, they have to keep logs and report”certain” behaviors to the fees and state police for computer usage, wtc. All came abut because of the Patriot Act in 2001.

Think about it - every city, county official you meet, every public school teacher/employee, every cop, postal worker, etc. they are all bound by the same rules and basically feed info into the apparatus every day. Millions of little informers.... elk tied in at some point to the same computerized systems.

Some take this part of there jobs way more serious than most - yet it does not matter as the net result is the same,. The old saying loose lips sink ships could not be more appropriate than ever....

So why do we need the CIA anymore? Or is that used for official cover now?

Blogger Dave May 21, 2021 8:50 AM

I used to belong to such an organization back when domestic spying was frowned upon. I left it a long time ago it was corrupt way back in the 70's and 80's. As far as online comms, always assume your talking to a contentious government prick who wants a notch in his/her belt. I don't know why the government has become this involved when people just give it all away. Air Miles was a good primer tool for the masses and it was a bad trade giving away so much for pie in the sky.

The thought that nags me is: Would Newsweak actually print this if it would piss off the deep state? It’s always possible that they want you to read this, “we are watching, we are everywhere.”

Except for the little fact that it will never be used in your favour.

When a system can facilitate a great chance of abuse, comes almost for granted even greater abuse.

Remember this the next time you hear someone say the US military would never act against their own. And I heard/read somewhere that Eisenhower warned against the government/military/ industrial complex, and they modified it. We have met the enemy, and he is us.

‘I find this report to be particularly interesting in light of the way the current Alt-Hero episodes posit a much smaller and superhuman, but equally clandestine force operating inside the US military.‘

Near future science fiction is highly likely to be true.

What you've written reads somewhat like what in the approximate span of 1990's ~ 2010 was, (& might still be) called by Whitehats a “man-in-the-middle attack”.

How it worked (very abstract description)...

A Blackhat would:

1. find a poorly secured online banking site, or other site where access to valuable data/accounts required a password.

2. write HTML/XHTML/script that would display the Blackhat's userid & password fields in the midst of the site's actual document replacing that site's true userid & password fields w/its own.

3. when the unsuspecting user then entered the credentials into the fields and submitted them the Blackhat's man-in-the-middle site would hand-off the userid & password to the actual site.

4. The user would never know they were compromised until the account breech was detected or data deleted, or bank account drained.

Is this sort-of what you were thinking of?

If so, glad to help.

If NOT, are you able to give a better description w/o tipping your idea?

Blogger Macs May 22, 2021 10:58 PM

This sounds like bullshit. Sure I guess it's possible the military has dome online tip portal for certain members who are retired or not active, but it is surely just another source of pork. Otherwise that article would not have been printed.

Blogger Ariadne Umbrella May 26, 2021 8:04 AM

I would listen to AC simply because he has been in public for so long. He has been very consistent about what he says he sees. Before he was rattled by the surveillance people, he was writing about other things. Those things are all in public, in full documentation.

He isn't taking small bits of evidence seen only by himself and then constructing a grand theory of everything with him as the ascended Emperor, Son of God, Prince Galactic- you know, something a typical homeless schizophrenic would say. He is saying " I felt odd. I went over my house with a sensor. Here are the sensor readings here and here. Then they stopped." He's showing videos from around the world, from a lot of different people with similar experiences.

It's kind of like visiting San Francisco. You can read a fiction book from there, and it sounds so bizarre that it approaches Dali symbolism nightmares. Then you visit, or look at photographs, and realize the weirdness has been downplayed. The level of destruction is higher than anyone could expect, just as the background for whatever else the writer is describing.

And, more to the point, he's not the only one. He's of a type- bright, observant, politically not in the center of power- and others in the same orbit notice similar things. They all describe it differently, but it's not incoherent.
