Service may be spotty

It's not so much that I had to spend a few hours at the hospital yesterday following a soccer practice - no worries, I'm fine - or the fact that I'm on some antibiotics as the fact that I was having a very strange, but rather aesthetically pleasing dream about driving a minitrain to a friend's house through the snow to the strains of Celtic music that make me question the wisdom of doing a lot of posting over the next day or two.

Who wraps their Christmas presents in blue wrapping paper with red-and-green tartan ribbons lined in gold? And what was the significance of the little mouse riding on the minitrain? Why were the presents in the very large medieval fireplace instead of under the tree? And how was I controlling the speed of the train when there were only two buttons that let me switch lanes to pass the cars in the tunnels?

I did score four goals after two weeks of being shut out, though, so it's all good. The full volley on the rebound from a teammate's shot was particularly nice.

...did he really just say he was driving a train to his friends house with little mouse as his co-pilot? Yikes

Dear Lord Vox, you are absolutely hilarious. I imagine enjoying a glass of wine with someone of your unique sense of humor to be enthralling and enlightening simultaneously.

The gift wrap you describe strikes me as an archetypal present, like an old fashioned artist's rendition of what an ideal gift wrap would look like. Were they abnormally large too, as a child would see them?

Wish I could have such nice dreams. My dreams are about my life. Harumph.

Could this be indicative of squandered gifts or opportunities?

That sounds like some heavy duty pain killers at work. :)

The mouse symbolises the small joy's in life, obviously. Like scoring four goals.
The gifts are in the fireplace because they are lit. See Arkhaven, the gift that keeps giving.

i pass the buck on colours though.

I was just thinking the last holiday weekend how consistent you are, always here for us. But sounds like you need some rest. The key to analyzing dreams is to focus on the feeling, not the activity, and where are you feeling that in life - it's never failed me.

These days, talking about a dream might be a good way to send information to operatives around the world. You could include any details at all, with as much or as little detail as you wanted.

Create animated cartoon depicting experience, set to appropriate music - like Fantasia. What would be the proper title, Voxasia?

According to Freud there are two kinds of dreams, the regulars and the grand ones that are put together over time. This was a grand one and an injury won't cause it unless the event was emotionally intense. Sexual symbolism is usually obvious to anybody who is into dream interpretation. (I didn't spot any here. Still, could be there somewhere.) Other things are very likely to be unique to the dreamer, and not usually guessable by somebody else.

The dream will about you: you directly or your thoughts or a reenactment of an event, or damn near anything. And there will be a theme, something linking the stuff to together.

Blogger Doom June 10, 2021 12:34 PM

I've been having some more vivid dreams since starting P5P, a more bioavailable form of B6. I read about it in terms of anti-inflammatory for COVID cytokine storm, but turns out has other effects. Can help w anxiety and other issues in conjunction w zinc, google pyroluria.
Anyway, most B6 you get is a cheaper precursor form the body has to metabolize 8nto the active form, and in some people this pathway does not work well.
Lack of dreaming can be a symptom.

Did the minitrain go thru a tunnel?

Blogger dweb June 10, 2021 1:55 PM

I've had the dream before, next time look on the floor to your left, there's a scroll wheel for speed control. It's just hard to see because it's carpeted like the rest of the floor.

The headlight dimmer switch on the left changes the radio station.

The antibiotics and strange dreams/hallucinations may very well be related. My father has noted being higher than a kite while on Cipro, and he's never used anything illicit before to my knowledge. Apparently Levaquin is known to do the same.

Blogger lynnjynh9315 June 10, 2021 6:14 PM

Pretty sure that's the same train Ozzy rode....

Blogger Reader June 10, 2021 6:16 PM

My immediate thoughts upon reading your dream: The train is your vehicle for getting you back to your roots, to again experience those traditions and security from those times when you were back home - Christmas, friends, snow, music from long ago. But the presents are not under the tree where they should be, they are in the fireplace. That could signify a realization of your inability to ever go back home. The mouse could have been an obstacle, a distraction to prevent you from focusing on your task. The two controls to change tracks means you have only the control to keep from getting killed, but reaching your destination, your roots, may be out of your hands.

Your injury may have made you feel vulnerable, and that might have triggered your desire to go back to where you were safe, where you belonged, back to when you were young and practically invincible.

Who knows. The mind has a mind of its own.

Blogger DeadMeat June 10, 2021 6:31 PM

"Who wraps their Christmas presents in blue wrapping paper with red-and-green tartan ribbons lined in gold?" Since you're asking... Best Christmas ever, up to that point, early seventies. A wondrous sight, the Christmas tree lights reflecting off a special kind of metallic blue wrapping paper I had never seen before. Even more wondrous was the gift that blue paper enrobed. Back in MY day, kids didn't have fancy video games, like Pong or Donkey Kong, or games on phones, or even phones that didn't keep you tethered to the wall...and we LIKED it...flibberdy flee.! Now, this...THIS...was a toy:

PS Sorry about the knock to the noggin. All the prayers folks sent up for a speedy recovery folks appear to have been answered.
