This is what Boomers consider "an EPIC response"

The Boomer begins, of course, by talking about himself

Full disclosure:  I'm a 'Baby Boomer.'  Born in 1955. Some basic facts on me: [REDACTED because who cares?]

Then he poses three rhetorical questions, which suffice to prove that he doesn't understand what a "rhetorical question" is.

Now, all you boomer bashers, I have a few rhetorical questions for you (and if you choose to comment, reasoned, rational dialogue welcome, however, you go vitriolic or ad hominem, your comment won't see the light of day AND you'll be banned):

  1. What exactly do you have against what I've described that MILLIONS of Americans of my generation did?
  2. What exactly have YOU done that's so much better?
  3. What problems have YOU solved?

1. MILLIONS of US Boomers bought into the civic nationalist lies. This was understandable, as they were convincing and pervasive. What is not so easy to understand, and what is impossible to forgive, is that they STILL buy into those lies and they actively oppose everyone who a) knows what "posterity" means, b) understands the distinction between "nation" and "state", and c) makes any attempt to salvage as much of the USA and historical American culture for the actual American posterity as possible. Boomers like this simply don't understand that they are still cheering on, and "getting goose flesh" over an insidious lie that is the primary vehicle for the destruction of the American nation as well as the US state. This is just one example of the continued devotion of the Boomers to the ugly, the wicked, and the lie, but it specifically addresses what he described. It's very far from the only, or the primary, charge being brought by the historical prosecution.

2. Seen through the lies. Told the truth. Stayed married. Didn't murder children. Paid attention to our kids. Most importantly, did not call good evil, and did not call evil good.

3. The intellectual sacrifice of thousands of children to the public schools. Alternative tech options. Disabled the primary atheist rhetorical weapon. Comprehensively disproved both the theories of free trade and evolution by natural selection.

PS:  When you finally have the balls to act out your 'Day of the Pillow' fantasy, you MIGHT just find that I have a .45ACP under mine....and you'll feel it...for a second, as the barrel presses against your forehead.  Just sayin'....

First of all, the Boomer will be too drugged and demented to remember his own name, let alone the fact that he once owned a pistol. Second, there is no way he would ever shoot Nnamdi or Ogunna or Amparo even if one of them were holding a pillow over his face. Because that would be racist, and if there is one thing we know about the Boomers, it is that they would much rather die than do anything that would run even the smallest risk of being called THAT.

0/5 Pillows.

Ask not for whom the pillow fluffs,

Boomer, it fluffs for thee.

Oh, my goodness. There are commenters showing up on his blog, politely explaining things, and he's not even.......The Day of the Pillow gets explained, and he's insisting he won't go into a home, and I'm, just, do you think anyone plans on being so disabled that they plan to go into a home? Old Age will never take its due from you? Is that it? Do you think anyone goes in there with their faculties intact and their body healthy and hale?

He has two children and eight grandchildren. Props for getting a family half the average size of a Boomer family. Where are the other two children? 'Nads don't work, birth control, or abortion? The children have more than two. That's a revealed preference, right there.

Blogger Bigger Bunyip June 19, 2021 10:34 AM

Best way to needle a boomer: imply they aren't good with money. Drives them bonkers because deep down they know all they did was to sell out their children and grand children for stuff.
The "paid attention to our kids" accomplishment will just confuse a boomer.

Blogger CoffeeGroundsBear June 19, 2021 10:36 AM

All I could read his not-rhetorical questions in was Owen’s Boomer voice: “What have YOU done, Millennial?!?!”

Blogger LES June 19, 2021 10:37 AM

Yes, NABALT. My generation did not collectively choose to make bad decisions knowing the consequences. If they did, they left me out.

The couple of times I've commented with any explanation of the causes I get attacked as being solipsistic. Catch-22 even though I did most everything right: married 51 years today, wife stayed home and homeschooled the kids K-12 and I served on our city council and paid the price for resisting the gay rights movement in our city.

But, yes, I agree. Most men I know in my generation are guilty as charged and I an unable to explain Reality to them. They just don't want to hear it. They just want to talk about the latest thing they bought and how much it cost. I consider this blog my refuge so don't attack me personally (snark is so easy) as I do not take attacks against my generation personally.

These gimps and their guns. Bragging about owning 20 1911's youll never use just makes you look like a big pussy, which Boomers are.

Boomers are pussies and you'll never shoot any of all those guns you own. Never. because Boomers are loud mouth pussies.

Just sayin'.

I got Married at 25 and am staying married. I reproduced x3. We shun debt. Our brains rule over our hearts and our lives are better for it.

Never did drugs (either of us). We are raising our kids unashamedly in Christ, surrounding them with friends from church, and our church community is not Sunday-only.

We ignore advice from boomers recommending lavish travel, taking on debt, and getting divorced because the spouse is imperfect. (All advice I have been given)

We believe in the wisdom of our parents and reject the idea that wisdom can only come from first hand experience. Live and learn is not the best way to come by wisdom.

Blogger BoomerHater1 June 19, 2021 10:44 AM

The truth is if the Western economies suffer economic collapse in, say, 2033, the oldest Boomer will be 88 and the youngest 68; they will have already lived the majority of their lives.

It's the generations who come after them that will live with the consequences of their actions, not them.

Western economic collapse will just be the cherry on top of the Boomer cake they baked for succeeding generations.

Thank Boomers!

Would this be the same Boomer quoted in a previous post who didn't know the difference between "who's" and "whose?" It would stand to reason that the same Boomer wouldn't have the vaguest clue what a "rhetorical question" is.

Blogger FacelessBro June 19, 2021 10:51 AM

Went right to .45 ACP... this is why we (Gen X) can't have nice things. 45 is a great cartridge, and my favorite chambering for HK pistols, but it doesn't get any more Boomer than sayin'... muh 45. Which really means... the four grand, Mr. Boomer robbed from the grandkids' inheritance for a 1911.

Blogger Troy Lee Messer June 19, 2021 11:15 AM

...What exactly have YOU done that's so much better? ...

Instead of sacrifisng our lives in the name of the Gross Domestic Product [Boomers reflexively genuflect], we are personally raising our own chidren and grand children instead of murdering them in utero.

Boomer, just go die.

and again, you pussies will never shoot any of those guns, because you are spineless cowards. Boom Boom Boom "my 3rd AR-15 .308 20 inch barrel ..." yeah whatever Boomer.

If Boomers, with guns had any shred of decency, they'd already be out there causing trouble (and maybe some are, but i doubt it). But they arent, because they dont have any decency.

Blogger Doktor Jeep June 19, 2021 11:16 AM

Guns will probably be outlawed by the time the day of the pillow arrives thanks to boomernomics and their love for little brown boomers who also run on emotions.

Boomers always go the "what have you done" route because deep down inside, they know it was them not having done many things that would have prevented this mess. Like for example, having an entire lifetime to do something about the Hart Celar act of 1965. Like for example, having an entire lifetime to do something about the fact that we live in a country with the second amendment, which is law, but you can still cross the wrong state line with a legal gun and go to prison, while at the same time, Roe v Wade was a SCOTUS decision that all of a sudden you can kill the unborn everywhere.
That's on you, boomers.
I grew up watching my peers who had boomer parents undergo transformations almost overnight because of no-fault divorce and other boomer fecklessness.

I worked as a marine mechanic all up and down the coast of Florida and we also did RVs as well. Every damned time I'm on the property, usually beachfront or more often "canal" property - VERY expensive places - with a pool, expensive cars, big house, expensive boat... all boomer owned.....
and you meet the kids and they were complete messes. The son was either fat and cheetos-dust-covered, or looked like a meth-head and still living at home. The daughter was always fat and tattooed and looked like she already had a lifetime of cock run through her. Yes that's what boomers did. Picked themselves up by the bootstraps and spent a life amassing wealth with laser focus on the self while leaving their kids to the societal rot and degeneracy that they celebrated, allowed, ignored while "going along to get along", etc.

What have you done, boomer? I know what you did; when it was time to stand up, you "put it behind me to get on with my life". And what was that? It was getting fat while watching TV. That's what you did, boomer.

I do not condone this "day of the pillow" thing. Were it up to me, eery boomer would get an automatic Do Not Revive order, DNR for short, so when your life of self-indulgence finally sends the bill, you finally experience a real consequence - and then your body gets thrown atop a pile of burning Roy Orbison collector editions.
The "pillow" is simply symbolic, or perhaps maybe for those who use heroic medical expense to stay alive for no reason, perhaps Jamal from Nigeria is going to get the job done after all.

So in that case, for whom does the pillow fluff, boomer?
It fluffs for you.

Blogger Lazarus June 19, 2021 11:17 AM

Blogger wahr01 June 19, 2021 11:30 AM

The meat and potatoes of his post are a neutron-star dense pack of lies as brazen as a CNN newscast:

"The country is falling apart on YOUR watch. The most tyrannical government we've ever had is being shepherded by Millennials and Gen X'rs. The most diabolical surveillance state ever witnessed on this planet was developed on YOUR watch. "Karen" is YOUR daughter, not ours."

For the record as an early millennial, pretty much everything our generation did with the internet involved thwarting the tyranny and censorship imposed by Boomers since the Nixon era and dragging their corruption and treasonous activities into the sunlight.

The "diabolical surveillance state" he's decrying depends upon CIA-created tech monopolies. One of the graveyards of skeletons Millennials dragged out of the closet into the cleansing sunlight of the open internet was the CIA's "lifelog" project, a US version of the Chinese panopticon. Public pressure eventually killed it, and the same month Facebook was created.

The censorship you're seeing is a result of Boomers in US intel writing blank checks honest and open platforms couldn't match until only their assets remained to "return the favor" as seen in cases like O'handley Vs Padilla. The plans for the final pieces of this censorship machine came from Boomer David Brock and are floating in raw form on the internet.

Before millennials created the communities that made a crusade of exposing this stuff, This moronic boomer was too blissfully unaware to even know he was a subject of tyranny. God knows how many of the endless wars he blithely believed in. We know the usury industry got away with a dozen mass pillaging operations with idiots like him unaware of and even voting to further empower the vast corruption.

As for "Karen", she is always a late exer trust fund baby of a Boomer who failed to raise their daughter right.

Blogger Ian McLeod June 19, 2021 11:33 AM

One thing about millennials that everyone should find encouraging: many of my peers didn't buy into the BS of 2020-2021 are moving hard right. And are -doing- things. Can't change the world, but are changing their own lives because the Boomer system was so stacked against "normal" education, career advancement, and family life. The lockdowns have kind of backfired: self-sufficiency is on the rise. Even some of the libertarian never-Trump types are seeing the light through the lies that the boomers inculcated in my generation. Late is better than never.

@27 very well put. I love pointing out that Biden, who isn't -technically- a boomer but may as well be, is the guy who cowrote what became the PATRIOT Act in the 1990s so it was all ready to go after 9-11. And it was Boomers who kept him in power in Delaware for 394 years, or however long it was he was a Senator, and then put him in as veep under Obama.

Meanwhile, Edward Snowden, to whom we are all indebted is a damn millennial.

Blogger Joeplanet June 19, 2021 11:41 AM

Exactly. Boomers could rise up right now and turn the tide immediately on all of the evils they brought upon society. Stop the reverse mortgages. Stop the abortion industry. Stop living in The Villages. Stop spending somebody’s inheritance on Viagra. Stop taking cruises. Stop all immigration. Stop all further indoctrination and white hatred. And most of all stop lecturing us.

Put back the seed corn you have already consumed.
Go out in a blaze of glory that redeems your entire generation and causes your posterity to sing your praises for a millennium. There is still time. Act now.

But you can’t and you won’t.

On second thought, maybe I would condone the pillow...

The part about the 45 under the pillow really rubs my rhubarb.
I won't get into detail about my "militia' past - and no we were never seen in camo, which was the point - but that .45 comment drives home the fact that boomers sit atop piles of guns that they do absolutely nothing with.
Except maybe post angrily on the internet.

Before some boomer asks what I have done, I have trained over 1000 people in the use of rifles and handguns and have been doing it for over 20 years and never earned a penny from it.

The thing is, the boomer expects to still have his handgun after importing hordes of retards who will vote to have them banned. But Billy Boomer is certain he will still have his.

While countless boomers sit atop piles of guns and have done nothing with them to actually "preserve" anything. Most "I have 20 AR-15s" boomers i have met can't shoot them let alone go up a staircase with one of them.

Ultimately, the ".45 under the pillow" thing is perfect boomer mindset when everybody knows, based on what we observed, even while boomers are all about "what have YOU done?":

Boomers ain't gonna do shit.

Blogger Jay June 19, 2021 12:05 PM

I agree that boomers are generally terrible. But I've realized that many of them had parents who were severely traumatized in the war, and in the general stupidity of the time, for years afterwards didn't properly work through their trauma, but instead just drowned it in booze, and were cold in their demeanour to their children, out of a sense of trying to "shield" them from the atrocities they saw.

This of course TOTALLY FUCKED UP THE BOOMERS and turned them into one of the most psycho selfish generations ever (they took their parents coldness as distaste hatred of them and then became split off and hedonistic).

But it really goes back to the trauma suffered by the "greatest generation", and their total inability to deal with their problems. (my own grandfather had no outlet whatsoever to "process" the shit he went through).

It's easy to blame the boomers for being psychos, but there is a lot of hidden trauma underneath, and the "greatest generation" weren't exactly saints.

Contrary to the black cynicism of some childless people I've met, most adult children care deeply about their parents welfare even when that parent has been outright abusive. I have so many friends who are now, or have in the past been in a position of desperately trying to help and protect parents who never put that kind of effort into protecting them when they were young.

Dear Boomer,

You are entering the last years of your time influencing American culture and civilization. You have some time left atop the charts, but not much. The final pages of your chapter of public life are being written. It is a good time for reflection.

Think back to your childhood, to the country you grew up in. Think of the society you inherited, and think of the one you are leaving for your grandchildren.

Are you proud of the difference?

The worse thing about my generation is the continuing moral/intellectual/spiritual blindness despite the fact that the bill has come in and the tremendous damage is evident. I'd have a tiny bit of respect for him if he would thank me for cleaning up so much of the mess he left and apologizing for it. Just apologize for the incredible moral destruction you left boomers. It's not too late to apologize and take your spankings like a big boy.

Millenials and Gen Z are effectively Year 0 because the Boomers didn’t pass down anything to them.

It will be left to those that lucked out in birth or early red pilling to help guide the next two or three generations.

Incognizant Baby Boomer,
Your generation fought for the right so slaughter millions of children in the womb, and then wonder why you precious SSI is becoming insolvent. You fought for the right to give SSI as disability payments to anybody who told their shrink they were unhappy. You changed the metrics of how inflation was calculated, in the 70's, so that you could lie about how the economy is actually doing. You were happy to tax and regulate industries into leaving for more friendly countries, while pushing the narrative that becoming service industry economy is wonderful. You repealed the Glass-Steagall Act so that you could gamble in the stock market just like it was Atlantic City. You are happy to hire illegals to do your drywall/ carpeting/ any construction because screwing over citizens who have to pay taxes and make a living isn't your problem. You are more than happy to give away billions of dollars in bribes to foreign nations, decade after decade, while exponentially increasing the total debt of our nation into the trillions, just so that you can feel good that some foreign lapdogs say nice things. You have sold not-yet-born generations into the perpetual slavery of paying off your debt.

Can't count the number of times back in the day I had boomers at work bitch 'about the ex' and how they were being screwed for spousal and child support. Never a word about missing their children or even how their children were coping with losing their parent, no just having to spend money on them which was all horribly unfair. Compare with Gen-X fathers I know who only complain about not getting to see enough of their kids because of a messed up court system.

On the odd occasion I'd pull them up for being shitty humans, cue lots of spluttering outrage and how dare yous and of course I love the kids but the ex is a bitch. OK boomer.

Blogger Hammerli 280 June 19, 2021 2:33 PM

I'm starting to wonder if the problem originated with the Brat Boom decade group, or earlier, in the Happy Days (1935-1945) group. The Baby Busters (1960 +/- 5 years) were the first latchkey kids, raised by daycares and babysitters instead of their own parents.

FWIW, I think that abandonment of parental duty wrought massive destruction. The tendency has been to draw substitute child care workers from the lower middle class...or the lower class. And the kids pick up lower-class attitudes toward work, study, and self-discipline. So you have thoroughly middle-class parents wondering why their unmarried daughter turned up pregnant.

Blogger Ariadne Umbrella June 19, 2021 2:43 PM

Is that their parents were icky people who had just gone through a war a justification for going to war against their own children? Boomers won that war.

One third, 1/3, One out of three, turn your head to the left and to the right, one of you will not be here at the end of the semester- which is to say, one of you will be aborted. A death rate on par with the Black Death-which took a century- done in ten years, to your own children.

Of the remaining two the remaining two thirds: One half, One in two, HALF, of all Boomer marriages with children dissolved. This led to the children not having the resources of a stably married, nuclear family, at their disposal. HALF of all Boomer men and women thought it was better to LARP as a widow or widower than keep their act together.

This is not the fault of drugs, or drink, or the economy. The best estimate is that from at least 1850 to 1920, 1/4 of all Americans, native and imported, could be classes as alcoholics. They also tended to be married alcoholics. Not happy marriages, but stable enough to raise children for generations. Bitter, angry, stable, productive children.

So, of those divorced children, let's say there's a remarriage. The UN gets involved: children of step-parents have 80% of the resources that children in biological families have, devoted to their education, clothing and food. The 80% is the top of the range. So, even in a so-called two parent home, they are still getting less than is available or expected from their parents.

I'm leaving out sexual malfeasance. We know that black girls are preyed upon by older men at a heartbreaking rate. 50% have an incurable sexually transmitted disease by age 19. They don't get those diseases from young men their age. They are also notable for obesity. Obesity counsellors write essays about people in losing weight programs mentioning molestation and rape at really high rates.

We know that people from church backgrounds, at the Boomer age range, have divorces at a rate higher than the secular population. The argument is that these people get married rather than shack up. But: they have a high divorce rate, and a high enough fertility rate within the marriage. They also re-marry. And, anecdotally, everyone is griping about how fat girls in church are, these days. You think that maybe, just maybe, now these poor girls are living through what black girls have suffered?

Now, let's get to that fabulous, sainted one-third where the parents stayed married, and the kids survived the pregnancy. Of that group, let us talk about latch-key children. The biggest study, so far? People who grew up latchkey, do not inflict latchkey anything on their own children. Precipitous drops in latchkey activity.

However, let us take a time machine, back to the childhood of that group. Here is an indictment that should stick. Of the latchkey group: the most latchkey activity: Wealthier, college- educated, higher-end mothers did this to their children. Not poor women. Rich women abandoned their kids to chase the almighty dollar. They were already wealthy, well-educated. These were the women having smart kids, if genes mean anything. And these kids? 51% had lagging educational profiles and difficulties.

So, the best and the brightest had stable marriages, healthy kids, and then abandoned the kids to raise themselves after school. The STD rate and violence rate for kids looks normal, except for the hours from 3pm to six pm. These women staked their lambs, and let the wolves have them.

For all Boomers have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of literally any other generation in American history, before and after.

My parents were quintessential Boomers- selfish to the end. But what struck me over the last few days was a comment saying that abortion was irrelevant to the discussion. I disagree completely.

When the Boomer rot really became real to me was when I was old enough to understand what my dad's vehement support of abortion meant. He would dress up his support as a women's rights issue but he never gave a damn about women or their rights. He very much liked that abortion gave him an out if a women got pregnant. I have no doubt he talked more than one woman into one. When I realized that my respect for him eroded proportionately.

Ironically my dad, like the Boomer we've been referencing, also "raised" four kids who weren't his own. But he wasn't a good guy. He expected us to pay him back with interest. You can imagine his shock when he realized most of us didn't want to bail out his bankrupt ass- though one brother had to learn the hard way what a fools errand that was.

in the end he died largely unlamented in third world country. If that's not an appropriate end to a Boomer life I'm not sure what is.

It's only relatively recently that those vets got respect.

And Booming away, they made sure that they learned nothing and got us into BS wars ever since.

And as far as the trauma goes: My grandparents sucked it up and did what needed to be done. My parents pathologize everything to the point where right and wrong didn't exist and everything wrong they did was justified because of their pain.

I felt that way right up to his glowing profile in Playboy, that he was a regular at the Playboy mansion. I was a grownup at the time. I knew enough then to know he was a sociopathic predator hunting in a pack with other predators.

Then I was ready to re-read and face the absolute evil that is The Giving Tree. What's worse, is that after I became a Christian, I learned there was a genre of writing where the tree that made the Cross Jesus died on is given voice. The Giving Tree is not just a generationally wicked book. It's a literally Satanic counterfeit.

"...hundreds...thousands..." of women slept with.

Ursula Nordstrom looked at this man who had built a career at Playboy and saw a children's book writer. I almost can't even. She was also lesbian, which is news. First children's book with a gay theme, Maurice Sendak's books. She worked at Harper & Row, who also brought the works of Paul Zindel to kids. Because people who go to plays about suicidal basketcases think the playwright is an obvious shoo-in for children's book writer.

I once met the boomerist of all boomers! This guy owned a shitty rent-a-tuxedo shop and he somehow managed to get himself into debt of almost a million dollars. It wasn't his home mortgage, business debt, or investments. The debt was from the cars, boats, a big cabin, lavish vacations, time shares, and other crap he'd just buy (consume)! He did this for many years and was a completely shameless narcissistic steaming pile. I was stressed out just listening to his debt as I was working in an accounting firm where he was a client! No worries for this asswipe! He's probably sailing off into Margaritaville somewhere and his kids despise him.

May the sails shift and knock him into the water unconscious where he will hopefully join the food chain.

>> This of course TOTALLY FUCKED UP THE BOOMERS

BULLSHIT.

How many of the WW2 generation who survived actually saw combat?

By that time, the logistics tail was already 10x the number of combat arms troops.

Less than 5% of the Boomers' parents ever heard a shot fired in anger, let alone experienced the fear that goes with being in someone's ordnance impact zone.
Fewer still eve

It definitely took things into the surreal.

@CynicalMan

So what you're telling us is that the Boomers were never entitled to the wealth they inherited, in the forms of money, society, and a vigorous industrial physical plant.

But they still burned down society's institutions, literally sold the industrial physical plant to China (at pennies on the dollar) and took the proceeds along with the inherited cash, and have been partying their asses off ever since.

Yet they deserved not one dime of that wealth, right?

My parents are Silents.

I was 8n kindergarten when I witnessed boomer idiots across the entire freaking country constantly complaining and offering not one single SENSIBLE solution to anything -- merely "give us fewer responsibilities, and more freedoms which we have already demonstrated that we are too foolish to be trusted with."

My only real anger is that my once fiancee abandoned our, until then, unbelievable faultless relationship, after some asshole corporate salesman, who met her at a party, hired her illegally (she was a European woman, visiting on a tourist visa when we met, and thus ineligible to be hired), then lured her out of state and, after having been in her presence a total of at most 8 days, proposed to her, and when she told him no, he raped her.

As is typical, one of the consequences of her being raped, was an inability to maintain her contemporaneous romantic relationship.

If killing him would undo the damage which was done to both her, me, and the children we never had, I would execute him without a moment's hesitation

Since killing him will not and can not undo the damage and roll back the calendar, his death will be slow, painful, and end with his corpse bearing a sign, in his own hand, of his crimes.

Not surprisingly, he also built a business 9n assisting American manufacturers move their manufacturing operations to China.

Illegal hiring
Played, "I'm your boss, so you should be my romantic partner"
Rape.
Treasonous business activities.

His slow, painful death will literally start at his toes.

That's MY anger issue.

And this perpetrator is a Gen-X 3 years younger than me.

I was watching a video about wood ants when it occurred to me that even insects dedicate their lives to providing for, and protecting their next generation. Boomers just wiped out their own in Planned Parenthood.

Thanks for looking up his bio. I'm not surprised he was degenerate, but am surprised he got away with it while being a children's author. Maybe I shouldn't be, though. I've been reading this blog long enough to know better!

"There is a stalwart group who has been defending Boomers by way of absolutely ridiculing Vox Day for some time on Reddit."

Gammas. Stalwart.

It's a strange glimpse into the delusion bubble.

I'll delete the throw-away comment right above. Anyway, children's literature? The left really believed St Ignatz when he said "Give me the child..." and few on the right bothered to write decent children's books, for, like, at least 100 years.

Louisa May Alcott was a full-on wingnut, and she's the only generally popular old-style writer. The Anne of Green Gables writer has been deprecated.

I had my grandmother's children books, and my father's, from the 1950s. Not one of hers could be published today, which is sad. Charming books. Racist, by today's standards. Some of my dad's books are the Junior Classics, now put out by Castalia House. When I can afford them, I'll get them.

Harpers, from the 1940s, had homosexual editors, male and female, and specially sought out and promoted homosexual authors, but it was all "don't ask, don't tell" so the books have a sort of weird vibe. However, that famous immaturity and narcissism of gay people happens to work pretty well with an group that is by definition immature- children. Sendak, dePaolo and Lobel wrote some good kids books.

The ones that have me raising my eyebrows are Silverstein and Zindel. They were recruited by editors, after writing some really-------who looks at someone who writes a play about teen suicide, and thinks "That's what I want in a children's book writer?" Or someone whose whole career is based in porn- "That, that is the person we want writing books to influence children?"

Maya Soetoro-Ng, Obama's sister, wrote a picture book that basically deified their mother as a moon goddess. I was talking about it for years to righties. None of them had children, so none of them had any inkling that it might be kind of a big deal, or worth looking at, or anything.

The wellspring on a lot of this is women's colleges. They had professors straight up grooming nice young women into being foot soldiers for the culture war. They knew they were going to get jobs in publishing in New York. They'd talk about in classes, and challenge these young women to be the vanguard of the revolution. Some succeeded. Some, who worked in lower margin houses with actual accounting departments, had their career tanked because they were trying to sell pansexual porn to romance novel readers. Women were more protected than children, which is just a sad, sad statement.

.45ACP really is the perfect caliber for boomers. It's loud, annoyingly heavy for no reason, and expensive. 9 times out of 10 it's a crappy 1911 style handgun that they've never cleaned...

It is - as you would expect - a bullshit excuse for Boomers.

I had an Uncle who was a Silent. He saw a lot of combat in WWII. NCO in a rifle company in Patton's 3rd Army. The unit saw 150% casualties from August '44 to March '45. 9 months and 150% casualties. He was a little messed up after the war and took to living by himself in a cabin on the Oregon coast. Eventually, his brother, who has also seen combat (though not as much) went up there and talked him into coming back into civilization.

Things weren't perfect, but he raised three Boomer kids who, though Boomers, were far from the worst of the lot. It wasn't the combat their parents saw that screwed up the Boomers.
