Wednesday PM Arktoons

MIDNIGHT'S WAR Episode 7: Vampire War

THE HAMMER OF FREEDOM Episode 8: Leave Him to Us

The panel below is a good example of the massive level of detail available on Arktoons standard resolution, which provides 81 percent more graphic detail than Webtoons or Tapas. Although it's interesting to note that Webtoons has recently introduced a new 1080-wide cover element, which tends to indicate that they are paying attention to the way in which Arkhaven is changing the digital comics game.

And we're just getting started. There is a lot of new content and new features that will be coming over time. Join the fun as a subscriber.

Why does anyone prefer the very short episodes?

Ha. The guy in the second panel of today's HAMMER episode (black shirt, on the phone) bears a striking resemblance to Zuck of FB.

I am loving The Hammer of freedom. That panel would make an awesome poster. Just sayin'.

Oh... Midnight War has advanced the plot from the webtoons days.
Much excitement.

Oh oh oh!! I LOVE that despite having pored over Midnight's War many, many times on Webtoons before you pulled it down, I still rush to it the minute it's up on Arktoons; and sometimes, like today, A WHOLE NEW episode!! A whole 'nother plot piece! It's agonizing to have to wait a week again!! Agonizing but SO worth it!

Thanks you VERY much to our Dark Lord and The Legend!!

What ever happened to Ascendant or Go Monster Go? Are they ever coming back?

Today's Midnight's War is the last one that was on WebToon, IIRC. Watching the vampire war get going will be interesting to watch.

Where is Go Monster Go? :-(

I read the whole "the Hammer of Freedom" series for the first time. Gave me chills. Darn good story line if it is a story as opposed to a window into the future. Keep up the great work.

I don't like these little five panel blurbs much, the story line is a lot harder follow when you only get three lines of dialog a week.

Not bagging on what you're doing at all, just stating my opinion about the format, and I fully understand that I'm likely in the minority on this one.

The art and stories themselves are excellent as always though.

The Arkhaven originals I expected to be good, given past experience, but the Brazilian additions have been a most welcome surpise.

Not that I expected Brazilian comics to suck, but more like I didn't know WHAT to expect from them really.

What we got turned out to be excellent, and on-par with the Arkhaven stuff.

The increase in detail over Webtoons is actually over 100% since Koreans and queers can't draw backgrounds well and have no sense of framing.

@10 No, I don't think you're in the minority. The 5-panel story is like being stuck in traffic on a California highway.

Blogger Black Robed Cleric June 10, 2021 12:48 PM

@10, I doubt you are the minority. The survey here was almost unanimous for longer over shorter episodes.

Everyone's stuck in traffic ... but you're all still going there.

People want more lanes, but more lanes just end in the same congestion.

People want more panels, but the observation is that frustration doesn't hurt overall readership.
